Posting a Profile in the Character Directory
Now that your character sheet has been posted and you're good to go, it's time to post your extended profile in the Character Directory! The directory is located in the Records Room forum and is a place for you to work on a more detailed version of the profile you posted in your original character sheet. Anyone who has a character already ready to go and in the game is allowed to post int he directory. Ready to begin? Lets get started!
Profile Basics
- The directory is organized alphabetically by first name. Once you visit the Records Room, find the section that has your character's first initial. If their name is "Ashley," for example, you'll find the "A B C D E" section and then post in the more specific "An - Az" category. Your character's name shoudl be the title of the thread.
- Your profile can be organized however you want! Get creative! Customize it! Use header graphics, different colors, organize it like an autobiography, whatever you want. You don't have to follow a specific style or template. We do have a few simple guidlines for what you may not post listed below, but the creative aspect is entirely up to you!
- Characters grow like people - the story never stops! Your character sheet that you first post is just the beginning. As your character interacts with others and plays through different periods of time, you'll start to learn more about them. Your extended profile gives you a place to tell this story and elaborate on your character as you learn more.
Posting Guidelines
- Try not to overload your profile with images. Profiles are a place to tell the world about your character with words, not a photo album - and lots of images make it harder for those with slow internet to view the thread. Players are welcome to use images to decorate their profile or as an illustration of what their character looks like, but image-only posts will not be tolerated.
- Posting in others' profiles is not allowed. This is meant to be a directory and reference, not a chit chat area. Any posts made in a profile thread that are not by the original poster will be deleted.
- This directory is to be a game-related resource ONLY! It is not to be used to store any kind of OOC information besides that which is asked on your original application, and cannot be used to gain facts about a player's character to take advantage of them, etc.
