Fresh Ideas

Postby Valentine Lebeau » Wed May 09, 2012 4:23 pm

Looking back on Ms. Leabeau here, I've noticed something. All her threads either involve her eternal bloodlust or using her rather vivacious body to seduce everyone silly. Usually both. I'm just throwing it out there, but I'd like to have some other plot lines I could get Valentine involved in. Any suggestions?

That's just it, I kinda want to get Valentine a personality other than "blood sucking temptress"

Well, I don't really know too much about vampires, or the type of vampire you would find in the Fleur du Sang. But, from reading over the profile, the idea that seemed the most interesting to me, would be to have a plot where Valentine finds herself in the company of a female that is the exact opposite of Val in terms of how she sees men. The woman would have to be someone that Valentine has at least a certain respect for, in one way or another, because I highly doubt she would give anything she would say any merit otherwise.

The appeal to this, would be that it has nothing to do with her vampirism (and thus would deter from falling into the 'same old routine'), but everything to do with what seems to be the main driving factor of her life. At first I thought perhaps a man could come along that would make her question her bias, but it seemed a bit unlikely she would ever really be able to entertain a man's ideas outside of feigning interest in her game to "get them".

Not sure if that's what you're looking for. Technically the woman who could at least plant the seed that Valentine's bias is a bit extreme doesn't have to be a vampire herself, so it does open up the opportunity to more people who may be able to play it out with you. *shrugs*

The thats settled! Where do you like the story?

Misandry is essentially Valentine's largest character trait. Having someone who worships men the way Valentine worships women would certainly be an interesting connection, but like you said it would have to be someone in a position of power or she wouldn't interact with them.

Or not even a position of power (unless you think that would be the only option) but someone she respects the opinion of, someone she sees as an equal. Another idea that hit last night that may help too.... perhaps one of the women she feels she is "keeping safe" and her have a butting of heads, and this woman says some things that makes Valentine think about her own bias? They wouldn't need to actually come out as friends at the end, if it went a way that she wouldn't want to have anything to do with the person, but it could be a great way to plant that seed of doubt about her ideas and lead to future RPs that follow that path.

That's actually not a bad concept. I like the possibilities it opens up. I feel like I'd need a misogynistic character in order to counterpart her.
