Can't Retract an Invite Now

[Xanthy Hinterbottom]

Xanthy laughed, her head turned to Mac, the bottle lowered to her lap.

"Oh you'll love it, I'll make sure you'll not regret having me here. Just you wait and see froggy," her mouth splitting into a wider grin.

[Macaire Ackland]

"Yeah, well, easier for you to say now," Macaire huffed. "You've still not had to meet my mother and sister yet."

[Xanthy Hinterbottom]

"I bet they aren't all that bad. No more than any other parents, you've not met mine or my pain in the neck older brother, so I'm sure it'll be fine." Nodded Xanthy, as if to confirm the point. She wasn't really all that bothered about meeting his family, especially given it was no doubt going to cause Mac some pain in the process.

[Macaire Ackland]

"Just keep telling yourself that I guess," Macaire mumbled before having a thought. "Try and spare me slightly, won't you?"

[Xanthy Hinterbottom]

Xanthy just looked at Mac, she had that annoying knowing smile on her face, "oh I am sure I can spare you a little." her hand gesturing just how little she meant. Adjusting the bottle in her hand she dug it slightly into the ground so it didn't fall over. Then proceeded to take off her trainers and socks, she had no issue with getting dirty, and the river water looked rather inviting, or at least had the appearance of being so, and her feet could do with cooling down.

"I am being nice, you know, and letting you crash to escape all your woes," Macaire pointed out before adding, "And it's rather painful being that nice to you."

[Xanthy Hinterbottom]

"Yes, you are being nice and I know it's incredibly painful for you, probably reminds you of all those etiquette lessons you had to take" when she had found out about those lessons she was glad she didn't go to his school.

"Look, I'll not make it to hard on you, promise not to show up in front of your parents or siblings, ain't that cruel" she got up and moved forward a bit to put her feet into the cold river.

"Oh Merlin, don't reminds me of those etiquette lessons," he muttered in reply. He then cleared his throat as he said, "Right, well. Good. Because they're all weird about me having a friend that's a girl from England."

[Xanthy Hinterbottom]

"Don't you worry about that Mac, after all we all know that your not datable so, nothing to fear" she winked at him and turned back to look at the river.

[Macaire Ackland]

"Har, har..." Macaire rolled his eyes. This really was going to be a very, very long week. He was now very much looking forward to the following week when he'd be starting his work.

And maybe on the off-chance he'd spy Madame DeBois.

Xanthy just laughed, her arms stretched out behind her to keep herself propped up whilst her feet played in the water. Well, it was certainly going to be a fun week, regardless of what Mac said. Xanthy wouldn't have crashed with him if she didn't think she could stick out a week hanging about with him, he wasn't all that bad even if he was a bit a miserable git...
