These sorts of parties, the kinds that were attended by the various celebrities and other well-known people of Wizarding society, were not the kind of thing Siobhan really enjoyed. She had always thought she'd get used to it but every time she found herself feeling both nervous and bored throughout the whole thing, and she always tried to leave as soon as possible. Fellow players she didn't mind talking to, but she had no interest in conversing with random so-called famous people or socialites who were completely up themselves. After a while, the false smile started to hurt her cheeks.
As luck would have it, Siobhan had ended up at tonight's party on her own, which was basically her worst nightmare. Normally she would have at least one or two team mates with her, but none of them had been able to attend the night- or so they'd said- and yet somehow she had been dragged into it. Currently she stood at the edge of the room clutching an almost empty glass of champagne, not feeling altogether comfortable in the fancy dress she was wearing. She scanned the room, simultaneously looking for a familiar face and trying to avoid the gazes of prying journalists.
Suddenly her gaze fell on the face of a girl who looked all too familiar; it was Ariel Singleton, the Fitchburg Finches' seeker. Siobhan felt a wave of relief sweep over her. She didn't see a lot of Ariel, mainly for geographical reasons, but she'd spoken to her a few times and she liked her. At any rate, she would've spoken to pretty much anyone now.
Siobhan strode towards Ariel, closing the small gap between them in a few seconds. "Hi," she said, greeting her fellow sportswoman with a bright smile.
