Hello, All!
I wanted to bring this announcement to you more in the form of a personal note rather than a formal notice, so I hope that is okay with everyone. :) Because of that, this may be a little wordy, but please stick with me!
To get to the point - as of today, July 6, 2012, we will no longer be allowing Family Listings in the Idea Factory Forum. There are a few reasons behind this - first and foremost, though, it's because these types of posts were never intended to be allowed in that section. In fact, we have a section called Play My Character - and have had this section for some time, actually! - that lets you list out character outlines for play. These outlines do not even need to be fully fleshed out - some of the information that you all have been giving for family listings actually better fits the template for the Play My Character board! We also can only help enforce claimed family members being inactive if they are claimed through the Play My Character board, not through the Idea Factory.
We do also have (and again, have had for some time) a forum called the Genealogy Archive that you can list out your entire family lineage in, and even include text at the bottom that says "PM me if you'd like any open characters" or something of that sort. We welcome you to use this feature to it's fullest so that you can keep full lists of your family active.
In regard to these posts being so popular, however, we have decided to now allow multiple characters posts in the "Play My Character" forum. You can now post up to three characters in one thread, and once those are claimed you are welcome to post more in a new thread. You can also have multiple single character posts going on at any one time.
In the coming days, we will be locking all of the current family requests in the Idea Factory and removing them completely by July 10. We ask that if you wish to keep your information, you copy it to the Geneaology Archive or post it as a part of a Play My Character request.
We do have a lot of fun things coming up for you soon and will continue to monitor the entire Character Workshop forum to keep an eye out for ways to improve it further and to make sure the rules are being properly enforced. You're more than welcome to post here as a response or even use the Anonymous Feedback Form to let us know what you think.
