Adventure Awaits!

[Sebastiano Labrador]

Though most children looked to the coming of the fall with disappointment, as a sign that their freedom was coming to an end and they would soon be returning to school, Sebastiano Labrador was of a different opinion entirely. This September would mark his First Year at Beauxbatons, and he could hardly wait to finally get to attend the school that all of his older siblings had told him about. He would get to make all sorts of new friends and have awesome adventures, and learn about magic!

Of course, his brother Mateo would be there too, but Sebastiano was of mixed opinions about that fact. On the one hand, Mateo was his brother - and he loved him. But on the other, Mateo was the biggest baby on the face of the planet, and he didn't want the boy to ruin all of his fun.

Eager to resolve this issue, Sebastiano had taken it upon himself to talk to his baby brother about it. And so, entirely unbidden, he barged into his brother's room and said "Hey Mateo, I need to talk to you about something!" not bothering to knock.

Mate was excited for school in the fall. He wanted to learn everything. Sure, it would take a while, but he was determined to do good like all his older siblings had. He had already started to look at the school books and ask Ana questions when he's home. Mat liked the magical creatures. They were nothing like the regular animals you saw about Madrid. That made them cool.

Mat was reading about Norwegian Ridgebacks when his brother barged into his room. Mat nearly wet himself as he yelped in surprise. He stared at his younger brother with a curious gaze. "About what?"

[Sebastiano Labrador]

Sebastiano laughed when Mateo yelled Luke a frightened puppy upon his entry into the room, honestly you would think that Mateo had gotten used to Sebastiano barging in unannounced by now. "Calm down you big baby, it's just me." Sebastiano teased his brother unnecessarily, but of course necessary or not Sebastiano was never going to miss a chance to tease Mateo. It wasn't that he didn't love his older brother, because he did - and every bit as much as he lived his older brothers - but it was just part of the fun they had together...well, Seb thought it was fun anyways.

"I wanna talk about Beauxbatons."Sebastiano said, settling into a seat cross-legged atop his brother's bedspread.

lmao Mateo is actually the older of the two, although he neither looks it nor acts it.

Mat frowned when Sebastiano called him a big baby, even adding a huff to show that he was annoyed. But he was quick to calm down and waited patiently for the other boy to get to the point as to why he decided to barge right into his room. He figured it had to be something important. So when he heard that his brother wanted to talk about Beauxbatons, he quickly gained Mateo's full attention. The small boy just watched the Spanish boy for a couple minutes before finally speaking. "What about it?"

Mat was reading about Norwegian Ridgebacks when his brother barged into his room. Mat nearly wet himself as he yelped in surprise. He stared at his elder brother with a curious gaze. "About what?"

"Well..." Sebastiano began, still not certain what he wanted to say. "I just...I don't know." Sebastiano admitted, frowning and looking down at the bed. He did not like being confused, he preferred it when he always knew what was going on. But right now he was very confused, and he did not know what to say to his brother.

Mateo watched Sebastiano. The small boy really wanted to know what Sebby wanted, curiosity had gotten the best of him. "Do you think food at Beauxbatons will be good, Dong-saeng? Good like Eomma's cooking." Mateo rather liked his adoptive mother's cooking. He didn't like Spanish food when he was adopted, so it had been a pain to get him to eat. But now he loved it. But he worried about school. He didn't know what to expect and it was actually scaring him a bit.

"I hope so." Sebastiano replied, before pointing out "But Ana and Enri both say that it was pretty louse so..." Sebastiano shrugged, hoping that his older brothers were wrong - but at the same time rather doubting it. "But...Beauxbatons is sort of what I wanted to talk to you about." Sebastiano replied slowly.

[Random Event]

While the two boys spoke to each other a loud bang sounded just outside of Mateo's room, what could it possibly be?

Mat nodded at the words. Their brothers did speak good of the school. He then blinked when his brother spoke again about wanting to talk about Beauxbatons. "What about Beauxbatons?" The elder boy was curious. What was it that Sebby wanted to talk about?

Sebastiano frowned, not wanting to hurt his brother's feelings - knowing that this would just get him into trouble with their parents. It was a rather delicate matter to get around to, and Sebastiano finally said quietly "Well...you aren't gonna act like...a big baby at school...are you?"

[Mateo Labrador]

Mateo stared at Sebastiano for a long minute, not saying a word. He then huffed. "I'm not gunna act like a big baby, Sebby." He stared at his brother. "Are you going to act like a jerk the entire time?" He honestly just wanted to be able to get along with the youngest Labrador child. They were the same age so would be the same year. Mat didn't want to spend seven years at end with Seb. That would make their years at Beauxbatons surely miserable, and probably cause their parents to worry.

"I'm not being a jerk! That's a fair question!" Sebastiano replied with a pout, quite upset that Mateo was calling him a jerk after his entirely legitimate question. Mateo acted like a baby so often that it would have been entirely remiss of him not to have said anything! "Look, if you act normal then that'd be awesome. You're my brother, I want to be able to spend time with you when you're not being lame." Sebastiano said, which he thought was a very nice thing of him to say.

Mateo stared quietly at Sebastiano. Why was his brother so mean? Mat was just himself and yet his brother didn't like him. The wheels in his mind kept going and it was heading downhill. "You don't like me?" His voice was quiet as he spoke his thoughts. He wasn't a baby. He was just himself. So if Seb thought he was a baby and lame... Then that meant that Sebastiano didn't like him. And, honestly, Mat just wanted his brother to like him. He wanted to be friends with the other boy.

"I never said that!" Sebastiano protested immediately, angry that Mateo was twisting his words yet again. "See, you always do this! You always take something that's no big deal and you somehow make it into a huge deal!" Merlin, what was wrong with his brother? It was like he wanted to be upset all the time!

[Mateo Labrador]

Mateo couldn't help but huff and cross his arms when his brother began to yell. Why did his brother have to go and yell like that? It was honestly mean and made him feel bad. He hadn't been the one to start yelling either. So why did Sebby have to yell like that?

[Sebastiano Labrador]

Sebastiano sighed when his older brother got all upset with him, something that he obviously did not want to happen at all. "I'm sorry Mateo, I didn't mean it like that." Sebastiano said, looking quite ashamed of himself. "I guess we both have things that we need to work on." Mateo needed to not be such a baby, and Sebastiano... Well, Sebastiano needed to stop yelling so much.

[Mateo Labrador]

Mateo's attitude changed quickly when Sebastiano apologised. He smiled brightly, "It's okay!" He really did mean it. "I'll will do my best to not embarrass you." He knew that was the problem. He knew that Sebastiano felt that way. He wasn't that dumb. But it was okay because Sebastiano still talked to him and called him his brother. He didn't want to return back to a life where no one wanted him.

"No you don't." Sebastiano replied, folding his arms rather quietly as he said "You're my brother...I'd never be embarrassed of you." Ashamed of the way he was acting maybe - but that was an entirely different story. Sebastiano bit his lip before admitting "I'm glad we'll be going to school together." This was all the brotherly love Mateo was getting for a while - so he'd better enjoy it while it lasted.

Mat was a little taken aback by the words they he didn't. But he quickly found himself smiling. He was happy to hear that Sebastiano wasn't embarrassed by him. That was the last thing he wanted. He wanted to make Sebby proud of him. "I'm glad, too. I didn't want to go to Mahoutokoro..." Mateo didn't want to go to Japan, go to a country where he didn't really speak the language. He was slowly forgotten his Korean as it was.

Sebastiano nodded and agreed "Yeah, that'd be much too far away." Even at the times when Sebastiano did wish that Mateo would leave him alone - which happened fairly often - he would never want his brother to be so far away. He loved all of his siblings and could not bear to think of what he would do without them - Mateo included.

[Mateo Labrador]

Mateo smiled when Sebastiano agreed that Mahoutokoro was too far away. He would find it hard at Beauxbatons but at least he had Sebby and his siblings to turn to for help. He didn't know if he would be able to survive at Mahou all by himself. "So we'll just have to show Beauxbatons that our brothers and Mariana are lame." Mat knew if there was someone who could do it than it would be Sebastiano. He would show the school up and then some.

Sebastiano laughed at Mateo's words and asked "Why do we have to prove that they're lame? Surely all five of us can be awesome?" Sebastiano didn't see what Mateo was getting at. What would be wrong with the idea that all five of the Labrador siblings were awesome in their own way? Surely that reflected on them better than if only some of them were cool and others were in fact lame.

[Mateo Labrador]

Mateo blinked at his brother, tilting his head. "Don't you want to be Sebastiano Labrador and not 'Anastacio's little brother' or 'Enrique Labrador's little brother'?" He questioned before his small hands tightened into fists. "It's not fun never being acknowledged as yourself." His eyes glanced down. He had spent his entire life up until being adopted in this family as an 'it' as 'that woman's child'. He wanted to simply be Mateo forever.

Sebastiano tilted his hands to the side and asked "Why would that happen?" not understanding that people would consider him to be just another one of the Labrador family after four older siblings, and not give him very much of a chance at standing out for himself. Sebastiano just thought that they could all be special in their own way, and that sounded much better to him.

[Mateo Labrador]

Mateo watched Sebastiano quietly. "It's not fun when people don't see you as you." He was all too aware suddenly that Sebastiano hadn't experience what he had. He took a deep breath before grinning. "Beauxbatons will be fun though. I think Charms will be my favorite class." He didn't think he would be good at anything else, to be honest.
