Mr. Banshee

Jake had been walking around the school grounds trying to find his auntie Michelle, but he was having the worst luck in finding her these days, she wasn't in any of her usual spots. After doing a sweep down at the lake and having no luck, Jake headed back inside the school. There was one more place Jake had left to look where he knew Michelle usually went, and that was a certain empty class room.

Jake arrived at the classroom, the one he knew was where Michelle and Lessandro had first met ... But to Jake's dismay his auntie wasn't there. "For Salazar's sake!" he exclaimed, clearly not happy. He turned, about to leave but then thought of something-- ... Jake headed back inside the empty class room and crept over to the Professor's desk, he slowly peeked over the edge of it to look underneath where he thought Michelle would be sitting, but instead he was greeted by a big hairy spider.......

All of a sudden, loud female-like screams could be heard coming from the class room. It honestly sounded like a little girl was being murdered or something, but it was just Jake. He was now standing on the professor's desk, still screaming at the sight of the spider he'd seen.

Tyler Nevitt might not have been a Gryffindor, but when he heard what sounded like the terrified shrieks of a young girl, he had immediately raced towards the sound of the voice, his hair standing straight up like something straight out of a Japanese cartoon. "What's going on?" the boy shouted as he rounded the door into the classroom, wand pointed ahead to find that it was in fact just a Slytherin boy in his year, Jake Binx, who was making all the racket.

Lowering his wand as his hair drooped back down to its normal appearance, Tyler smirked at the Slytherin boy and said "My my Jake, I would not have thought that your voice could reach such pitches."

When Jake heard another's voice in the class room with him, you would think he would have died of embarrassment, but nope, not at all. Jake never hid the fact he's a wet girl when it comes to spiders. It's about the only thing that he's afraid of. And perhaps his dad too, but that was in a respectful way more than anything.

"Yours would reach the same pitches too if you seen how big that bloody spider is under the desk.... It's hairy too!" he said with a shudder. Jake pulled his wand out, ready to hex the huge (actually tiny, but to Jake it was huge,) spider. "I'm going to kill it before it kills me or bites me!" While glancing over to Tyler, Jake added "don't just stand there, help me kill it!"

"Ooh no, not a spider!" Tyler replied sarcastically, walking towards the desk and peering underneath long enough to find the spider. "Wingardium Leviosa!" Tyler muttered, flicking his wand at the spider, and swinging it around in a wide arc to hold in front of Jake's face. "You mean this spider?" he asked tauntingly.

When the spider was hung in front of him, Jake once again just could not hold back a banshee-like-scream! "I'LL F***ING HEX THE DUNG OUT OF YOU IF YOU DON'T GET IT AWAY FROM ME!!!" He shouted, perhaps roared and screamed was more correct, then fell off the desk, banging his head and back rather hard against the floor. Jake groaned, and moaned and cussed. Jake was behaving much like his father would, tsk, tsk. "You better run, dude---... I'm going to kill you..." he groaned from the pain, while slowly sitting up with a sore head from the bang it made against the floor. "I think I've got a concoction...."

Tyler giggled again and flicked his wand, sending the spider flying out the window. "See, all gone. Now is the widdle baby feeling better?" he asked, grinning at the boy's reaction, but walking closer when he said he had a concoction. "Well I certainly hope you don't have a concussion." Tyler replied, looking the boy's head over slowly.

"I MEANT CONCUSSION!" He snapped getting worked up. "The stress of the spider made me get my words mixed up, okay!?" he said trying to defend himself. "Even I am not that stupid to actually get Concoction and Concussion mixed up" he added, looking totally un-amused. But with how hard Jake had hit the floor, he probably had got his words mixed up from that and not the stress of the spider.

Jake lifted a hand to the back of his head and began to rub it gently, it was indeed very sore, he could feel a bump slowly starting to form too. "Stupid spider..." he muttered in pain, and let his hand drop to his lap. "I think I have a second head growing out of my main head...." he said, referring to the bump he felt at the back of his head seconds ago.

Tyler giggled at the boy's words and replied "I think you might actually have a concussion, that could explain your mixup." Of course, it could have been his abject terror, but Tyler was taking no chances here. "Sit down at the desk, let me get a look at you." he said, wanting to make sure the other boy was alright.

"Wait, what, why?" he asked when Tyler was telling Jake to sit at the desk. But soon enough, he found out why; Tyler was wanting to look at Jake..... "Since when did you get your Healer's permit?" he asked while raising a brow, "or do you actually know a thing or two about concussions?" he added wondering if that could be a possibility. "I hope you do know what you are doing and are not just going all weird on me.... I know I'm hot, dude, but I really don't swing that way so no funny business" he added while sitting down.

Tyler shrugged and replied "I grew up with seven brothers and sisters, you pick things up." though when he suggested that Tyler was interested in checking him out, the Ravenclaw looked at him sternly and replied "If you don't shut up right now I'll give you a concussion, assuming you've got any brains left to addle!"

"I suppose that would make sense... The stories I've heard from my uncle and father, the amount of injuries they've had to mend on each other over the years....." he said then started to trail off a little. However, with Tyler's last words Jake came back to reality. "You can bloody well try, I promise you you won't get far" he said narrowing his eyes with each word he spoke, over Tyler giving Jake a concussion.

While waving a dismissive hand, Jake added "I'm probably fine anyway, just bumped my head a little too hard, nothing new there. So I'm sure I'll live, no serious damage caused I'm sure. You're probably wasting your time in looking me over", unless he'd bumped his head once too many!

Tyler scanned over the boy's cranium vaguely before saying "Well the outside of your head looks to be in order, even if the interior seems rather screwed up." He laughed, but of course he was being somewhat serious - this kid was pretty crazy, and Tyler was not sure whether or not he should be concerned about that.

"The interior is screwed up?" he repeated, not sure if he should be proud of that or not. Jake in a way did feel some proud-ness toward that, it meant he was just like the rest of his family. But on the other hand, being called crazy is an insult, right? Jake wasn't completely nuts like the rest of his family, but he was getting there, so right now he was still able to see being called crazy is not such a good thing.

"I'm conflicted here" he said, having a bit of an air-headed moment. "I don't know if to take that as a compliment or not. Hmm, why don't we keep things on a calm level and for your sake I shall take it as a compliment". With a little smirk, Jake added "thank you for the compliment", then snickered lightly.

Tyler laughed at Jake's reply and said "You seem rather silly, it's too bad that we've never spoken before." Tyler loved to make new friends, and this Jake boy seemed quite funny - even if he was a bit crazy. Not that he cared though, there was nothing wrong with being crazy.

Silly, hmmm, he's never been called that one before: Dim, stupid, crazy, jerk, flirt, slow and possibly mean but never silly. Jake grinned slightly, and said "well seeing as we're in the same year, it's safe to rule out different years as an excuse to why we've never really spoken before. Perhaps it has something to do with what circles we follow in....?"

By circles , Jake meant as in he follows with the other Slytherins, purebloods and trouble makers. And this boy probably -in Jake's mind- followed with all the goody-goody students, and the nice students. "I'm guessing you're someone who likes to work first and play later... Someone who likes to follow rules and all that?" he asked to see if his internal presumption was correct about what kind of circle this boy followed in. "You don't strike me a rule breaker, or someone that doesn't like to get into trouble etcetera".

Tyler shrugged and replied "I suppose not - most Slytherins don't like to hang out with me all that much, I think that find my sense of humor to be a bit odd." He shrugged at this, it wasn't like he really cared all that much - he liked his sense of humor and it was their loss, not his!

"Well, I don't break rules that often - but I'm not some kind of goodie-two-shoes!" Tyler insisted.

"Well then, this is good to know" he replied over Tyler not being some kind of a goody-two-shoes. Jake couldn't be seen talking with a goody-two-shoes, he has a reputation to keep, and a family name to uphold. "This is good to know simply because now we can hang out for a bit". Jake thought perhaps it would be polite to add 'if you want to hang out, that is', but good old arrogant Jake didn't think there would be any chance Tyler didn't want to hang, so didn't add on those last words.

"Cool!" Tyler said when Jake suggested they go hang out, hopping back to his feet and saying "What exactly did you have in mind?" It seemed to Tyler that this Jake boy was the kind of person his cousin would have liked to hang out with - and if that was the case he was in for a very interesting afternoon indeed.

When Jake was asked what he wanted to do, naturally damaging school property came into his mind. But of course Jake knew his audience, and he had a hunch Tyler wasn't up for such things, damaging school property only seemed like a good thing to do when in the company of his closer friends, like Hunter and his auntie Michelle. So, what should he suggest in the company of someone like Tyler?

"Girls?" he said aloud but meant to say it in his head. Simply saying girls didn't make sense. Jake realizing this quickly added "I mean do you want to find some girls, some cute girls and talk with them?" Jake slowly started to smirk at the thought of actually finding some decent girls to chat up.

Tyler smiled weakly at Jake's words and replied "For some reason it seems like every girl in the Castle wants to be my friend...but that's it." Tyler had been collectively friend-zoned by the entire female population of Hogwarts, and it seriously stunk. Of course, some part of Tyler was not all that bothered by this - but he was not ready to acknowledge that part of himself just yet.

Jake had never really had this problem that Tyler has been having, he didn't know what it was like to have a girl just want to be friends with him (however that would change soon when he would hang out a little more with Daphne Greengrass,) so he didn't know how Tyler would be feeling about this. "I can sort that out for you, if you like?" he offered thinking he could probably find a girl that would give Tyler some attention in more than a just friends sort of way. "What's your taste, your type in girls? I'm sure I can find one for you".

"Uhh..." Tyler said, not entirely sure what his taste was, having never thought about it before, and ultimately replying uncertainly "Hot ones?" hoping that that this would qualify as an acceptable response.

Jake laughed when Tyler said he liked hot girls, what guy didn't!? "Well that much I did kind of figure, what boy doesn't like a hot girl? It doesn't really narrow my choices down for you though, because all the girls I'm friends with are hot... Even my relatives!" On saying relatives there was only one he had in the school, and there was no way he was introducing Michelle to this boy....... She'd probably eat him alive, and Jake has to admit, Tyler was slowly growing on the Slytherin.

"Do you like blondes? Brunettes? Redheads?" he asked trying to narrow the choices down, "skinny girls? Ones with a bit of curve to them? Come on, dude, help me out here".

Tyler balked at all the choices that Tyler was throwing at him, pondering quietly before saying with very evident embarrassment "Uhh...brunettes...brunette girls with...with nice curves and...I can't believe I'm actually saying this." Tyler was bright red in the face right now - this was not the type of conversation he generally had. He was making this all up too, which only made it even worse. Tyler shook his head and said "Look I...I shouldn't have..." and without finishing his sentence he turned and fled - too embarrassed to continue.
