Hello hello Vaultians!

My name is Liz and I come to you at the recommendation of the awesome Manda!

I've been RPing for awhile. I started with Sailor Moon RPs, then moved on to some original RPs, back to Sailor Moon, then Harry Potter, then World of Warcraft... and now back to Harry Potter! I've done several different types of RolePlay aswell. Journals, forum based, instant messaging, and within video games are where most of my experience stems. Overall, I've been roleplaying for about 15ish years.

I got into Harry Potter around the time that Goblet of Fire was coming out. I had seen the first book in the bookstore before it got really big here in America, and I put it on my "to buy" list. After it got big however, I lost interest, because I'm one of those people that avoids jumping on bandwagons. My best friend talked me into reading the first book however, and the rest is history.

My favorite character is Tonks. I just loved how much she seemed to understand Harry from the get-go. I had really hoped that she would and Lupin would take Harry under their wing once the series was over. (this was before the last book came out lol). However, I have a deep love for McGonagall aswell. It makes me so happy that she is one of the only characters I've come across in my Pottermore adventures that is really fleshed out. (Not to mention I was ecstatic at the screen time she got in Deathly Hallows Part 2!)

I'll be honest. I'm not a fan of Prisoner of Azkaban (book or movie), and I have no love for Sirius. I don't really understand why people do. I think he's a bad role model and I just seemed to miss whatever it was that got so many people attached to him. I feel for Lupin the way most people feel for Sirius.

That being said, I do have a deep fascination with the Marauders and it is my deepest wish that J.K.Rowling write SOMETHING about that era. There is so many ways that time could go and I would love to see what Rowling has to share!

Maya is a character I created years ago on another Harry Potter site. I still love her. I want to find her a new home (hopefully here!). She's one of those characters that pretty much writes herself... which is awesome.

If I actually went to Hogwarts I feel like I would be a Hufflepuff. I'm a proud Puff! I'm pretty close to Gryffindor aswell, generally whenever I fill out a sorting hat quiz (whether one that is automated, or sorted by humans) I end up in one of those two houses. Pottermore included.

Away from the Potter universe... I'm a big fan of reading. Mainly I read retellings of fairy tales and dystopian societies (Hunger Games, Uglies, Matched, etc). I'm about to make a big move from Chicago to Orlando (literally... in the next few days). It has not deterred me however, from finding a new Harry Potter RP home! lol I love musicals, video games, and other nerdy things!

I would also be either a Hufflepuff or Gryffindor if I was at Hogwarts, I'm not sure which one exactly! And Tonks is also one of my favourite characters, yay! I love your taste in books, I love reading about dystopian societies as well. The Hunger Games and Matched are both awesome :D

I LOVE SIRIUS!!! haha but I respect your opinions but I have to say that he IS awesome and my favorite character in the book. Reason is basically cause he is awesome and too cool! Never knew of anyone who hated him so you are the first!! And like you, I love the marauders as well so I guess we've got that in common!

I don't know... I definitely don't have a hatred of Sirius... I just don't really understand why so many people love him so much. It's not a big deal however. There are reasons besides him that I don't like Prisoner of Azkaban XD (Mainly the fact that it is mostly a substory of Harry Potter.... and the movie made the series way too dark too fast)

Don't worry I love Neville too. Actually the actor who played him was in town for the Part 2 release. Sadly, I was working and wasn't able to go meet him. Not sadly, I work in a movie theatre and got to see all the people dressed up! (dressed up myself too actually).

When it comes to houses I really don't have any issues with them (although I recently found a post somewhere about why Ravenclaws are the meanest of the houses... and I'm tending to agree with the person). Hufflepuff is best. Hands down, but the reality of it all is... that pretty much everyone has a little of each house in them. I'm definitely one of those people that feels a little bad for Slytherins. They have such a bad rep... people are so judgemental! :(

I agree with you on Prisoner of Azkaban, that movie was honestly one of my least favorite of the series because of how dark it was- the tone was more like something I would have expected for the latter books, and after how much I loved the first two movies I always found it to be quite disappointing.

I agree with you on the Mauraders- I love the characters from that era, and I'd really like to see them and their time at Hogwarts be more fleshed out- hopefully there will be a lot about them on Pottermore. :D

I always used to say I was very much a Hufflepuff- I even have a Hufflepuff t-shirt from WWoHP! However, Pottermore sorted me into Slytherin- which is odd because that's always been the House I identified with the least. Still, since then I've noticed I do have a few Slytherin characteristics, so I guess there was something to the sort. I was still surprised when I didn't get Hufflepuff though.

I really like your tastes in books- The Hunger Games, Matched, and Uglies are all fantastic! Have you read Divergent at all?

Also, I think it's really cool to see that you're moving from Chicago to Orlando- I went from Michigan to Orlando for college at UCF last year, and I can say that it's a really awesome place- and the weather is fantastic- being able to wear t-shirts in February is a relief after Midwestern winters. :D

I really do have a soft spot for the Marauders Era, and really there is no basis for me to have it, other than I love the possibilities. One of the few things I really didn't like being changed in the movies was the Marauders. In PoA, where they don't explain how the map came to be? Please, please, director.... take out the stupid bird transitions of the seasons and use that 30 seconds to explain the map.

I totally have a Hufflepuff shirt from Potter World too :D I'm a proud Puff! I'm a good finder! Oh wait..... lol The Pottermore houses are rigged honestly. If you look at the totals for the houses, they are all pretty even in general. I think they have it set that answering may get you into the house you should be... however, if they need students somewhere the system automatically sends them to the lower population house. I would have been SO HAPPY if I had gotten Hufflepuff, but I can live with Gryffindor :) I honestly haven't been on the site in.... a long long time. I need to go back and explore some more.

Divergent, I have not read. What's it about? I'm currently reading The Maze Runner, which is proving interesting, but I have no idea if I actually LIKE it. A lot is still hindering on what exactly is going on to the characters in the book. (They wake up with no memory of their past, and are stuck in the middle of a maze filled with nasty oily machine cyborg like creatures that kill)

I'm moving about 20-30 minutes north of Orlando, and I know we're near a few universities... not sure if it's UCF though. All in all, I'm glad to be moving there though, I've been trying to move since January of LAST year (2011). I've got friends and family down there, so the move isn't too much of a stretch for me... aside from the distance I'm going to have to drive. LOL

I think it's just the possibilities and the ideas that make it so interesting- there's so much potential, and you can tell there were a lot of interesting character interactions and dynamics that happened during that era. I was disappointed when the "Snape's Worst Memory" scene was cut so short, it was really one of my favorite parts of the series.

Yeah- I think it has more basis than that honestly, but I think it is designed to give an even sort, and I don't think it's really all that possible to get a good feel for what a person is like from 8 questions, especially since some of them seemed sort of arbitrary and not really having much to do with one's personality. I explored through all of the chapters in one day- now most of the only times I go check in on there are when I'm looking for some information- I love their wand guide, it really comes in handy when I'm making characters on here.

Divergent is really good. It's about a futuristic Chicago that is divided into five factions, each one based around a virtue [Dauntless- Bravery, Candor- Truthfulness, Erudite- Wisom, Abnegation- Selflessness, Amity- Peacefulness]. Each person chooses a faction to spend the rest of their life in at 16, and the story is about a girl named Beatrice who is Divergent, which basically means she has the ability to fit into more than one faction. It's really really good- probably tied with Uglies for my favorite dystopian. I've heard of the Maze Runner but have yet to read it. It does sound interesting though.

Well, UCF and Full Sail are both universities about 20 minutes drive north of downtown Orlando, so you might be in that area. You'll know you're near UCF if you see a lot of black and gold and lots of "Knight" puns in the names of apartment complexes and businesses and clubs and such XD. It's nice not being so close to the theme park area of town, because that place can be extremely crowded and messy with tourists everywhere XD The drive is terrible, but it's not so bad if you split it up into a few days and listen to lots of music, or have people to travel with you. :]

Ah yeah, I'm living very close to Full Sail (biking distance really). I'm doing the drive alone, so I'm definitely going to be taking my time with it, lol.

That book sounds interesting! I'll have to look it up once I get some money (not to mention time to read).

I'm working on a profile for Lily here, because I think it's a shame that the Marauders Era board is empty! Hopefully some other people will pick up a character or two for some fun with the Marauders and such! If not... I'll just have to hit up Snape for some fun / cute Lily and Snape RP lol

Ooh! That's a really pretty area, I've been around there once or twice. :] I'm sure you'll love it. Hopefully the drive won't be too bad. :0 It's at least interesting at places- in Kentucky you pass lots of mountains and really pretty scenery.

It's really interesting! You should definitely give it a try- maybe even check it out from the library if you don't have the money to buy it right now! [Also, I just thought of another awesome dystopian- Delirium, by Lauren Oliver. If you liked Matched, you'll probably enjoy Delirium as well :3]

Ooh, that sounds awesome! I'm pretty sure we have a Sirius and a Remus here as well, so you can probably get a good group going :D There are also probably a few adult characters around who would've been alive at that time who can join in as well... I'd offer to but all of my characters are students :P

You do have wonderful taste in books and you'll have to let me know how The Maze Runner is because I've been dying to read it but I'm hesitant to buy it as I have a stack of books that I've been planning to read and I've hardly made a dent in it. Right now I'm reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. Once I'm done with that, I will locate my Maze Runner book and finish it. (It's in one of the boxes from my move this week. lol)

Ugh! I know how you feel. It's terrible. We have an addiction, I fear! D= Hahaha! I just finished Happens Every Day by Isabel Gillies and now I'm onto Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult after that, I may finish The Help if I don't get distracted by something else first. >.< (Tis Razzy, by the way.)

I heard The Help was good. Both the book and the movie. I haven't had a chance to read either of them though. All the talk about The Fault In Our Stars being a tear jerker has me reading it slowly. lol Well that, and wanting to fully enjoy it. I did the same thing with Deathly Hallows when it came out. Everyone read through it really fast, I took my time.

I'm going to attempt to read the Harry Potter books again.... however, I am HORRIBLE at rereading books. Generally, once I remember what's going on and how it ends I get bored and move on to other new books. It's a horrible habit that I wish I could break, because I'm a pretty proud owner of books... but they don't get much love after the first reading unless I'm looking up certain parts of them.

There are only a few that I will reread and I used to hate annotating and swore I would never do it but after high school I found myself highlighting and so forth in my books to be able to find valuable things faster than I normally would. My copy of Brave New World has so many markings in it it's ridiculous.
