To A New Land

This very morning, Peter had packed up all of his things, though helping his brother along the way. Once they had everything packed it was time to move from London, to Germany. Southeastern Germany, a place where nobody really spoke English. Peter really didn't know how they would deal, after all this was a new contract was going to bring them quite a bit of money, and they were finally going pro! But on the other hand, they were leaving everyone behind. Friends, family... Lovers.

It was just a matter of apparition, and within minutes were they in Germany, Peter stepped into the light and looked around. He had never been here really, but this was going to be their new home, he could only wonder what adventures awaited them. Though first thing was first, "Hey Pat..? Lets dump our Nimbus 2001's and buy ourselves better newer brooms.." Peter suggested.

Patrick was both excited and terrified to arrive in Germany - an entirely new world as far as he was concerned - which was going to be their new home for ... well, he didn't really know how long they were going to be there, but it would at least be for the foreseeable future. He looked around for a moment before glancing down at the single trunk they were each lugging behind them - which they had enchanted to carry all of their belongings - before suggesting "Maybe we should hold off on the brooms for now. I mean, we still have to get a house - and I think that'll eat up most of our signing bonus."

Peter laughed, "I mean.... Yeah I suppose you're right.." He sighed and scratched his head a little trying to think, "Maybe if we find a nice cheap place to live in around the pitch? Surely we can find something of worth, and then we can throw it into getting some nice brooms. If we split the cost on the apartment, right..?" Peter didn't really know, he hoped that Patrick did, even if a little bit.

Patrick thought it over for a few moments - on the one hand, after having lived in a rather small London flat for all these years, he had kind of been hoping they could get a nice proper house. One that had a big backyard, and was big enough that they didn't have to share one bedroom - or at the very least one bathroom. But he supposed that, for now, maybe brooms were more important. After all, that was an investment in their careers. "I...I guess so." Patrick said uncertainly.

"Alright how about this, we find a short lease on an apartment about the same size as our place, and then we get good brooms, and once we get more money from all the games and stuff, we can totally get ourselves a larger place." He saw his brothers hesitance and so he wanted to make things sound better then they really were.

Patrick thought about it for a moment - this seemed like a pretty decent plan - though he knew that they wouldn't be getting their first paycheck for another month - and what with their expenses it was going to take a while before they could make an actual payment. Still, he supposed that he could suffer it out for just four or five more months. "Well..." he said slowly before finally nodding and saying "Okay, let's do it!"

"Yeah! Alright, alright so what should we get? I mean new brooms come out every year, so our Nimbus' are out of date, and so are Firebolts.." Peter scratched his head again, "Hmm... Vortex Striker's don't sound like a bad investment, but then again I heard they are SUPER unstable.."

"I've heard some good things about the new NOVA, but they've yet to be tested in any reliable field." Patrick added to the conversation, deep in thought as to what would be the best course of action available to them. Only the best brooms would suffice after all.

"You know those Cleansweep 11's sounded pretty good too..Or you know that new broom that came our recently the Stardust 7, that one was supposed to be really great, but I have yet to hear too much about it.." Peter rubbed his chin, this really was a hard decision, and he had completely forgotten that they were simply standing in the middle of a street with their luggage talking.

The crowd was parting around the two - many shooting dirty looks at the twins as they passed - but Patrick was as oblivious to this as his brother as they continued their discussion. "I wouldn't go to a Cleansweep - that's practically a downgrade over what we're already using!"

"Hey man, that Stardust 7 sounded really good in the article I read.." And really, the only articles that the twins read were in fact related to some kind of Quidditch. Whether it brooms or a new Quaffle or Snitch brand, there really were so many things coming out nowadays it was hard to keep up all the time.

"That's the point of a magazine that serves as an advertisement for new broomsticks." Patrick said with a laugh, clearly not quite so convinced in the performance of the Stardust 7. Perhaps it was more an issue of brand, but Patrick was not too keen on Stardust as a manufacturer.

"Ugh, fine.. Vortex Striker, you're so picky! But yet I haven't heard you throw out any ideas for us!" Peter pouted a bit as Patrick seemed to throw down every single one of his ideas yet not give any suggestions himself, the twins didn't have many fights and if they did. They were rather minor, and this was just one of those times where Peter was upset with Patrick. Another time it might be the other way around.

Patrick smirked at Peter's comment that he had not done anything to help and replied "It's much easier to just watch you exhaust yourself going through ideas. That way I can just pick my way through and still come to the same result." Patrick seemed to think that he was being very clever - and he shot his brother a cheeky grin.

Peter huffed, "You're being a bloody idiot that's what your being!" Peter huffed and stared at his brother Patrick, who clearly thought himself to be truly very witty and clever, which wasn't the case at all. He was just being stupid and giving Peter a hard time.

Patrick stuck out his tongue and replied "Whatever Pete - why don't we just ask coach what he thinks then? I'm sure he'll have a worthwhile recommendation." That was, after all, part of the man's job to know what the best broomstick to use for his individual players would be. "I mean, it probably wouldn't be the same model for you and me anyways since we play different positions."

Peter rolled his eyes, "Good idea, and our coach BETTER be a man!" Peter stated loudly, before beginning to walk forward, they needed to find the field anyway, practice was going to start soon which really wasn't that great for them seeing as they had to just move today. "Any idea where the pitch is?" Peter inquired.

"Totally!" Patrick replied with a nod "Cause obviously chicks don't know anything about Quidditch." Patrick, of course, saw nothing wrong with his comment, and when Peter asked about the pitch Patrick said "It's out to the west - you know, way far away from Muggles." Quidditch Pitches, as a rule, were built in deserted moors and forests - places where no Muggles ever ventured.

"Indeed, indeed.." Peter nodded, he rolled his luggage out from behind himself and stared at it for a moment, he was still in awe of how they were able to fit their entire flat in here more or less, or all the furniture and other such things, magic was still such a wonderful thing, even after having lived ones entire life in such a situation.

A sigh left Peter's left and he looked over to Patrick. "Yeah that helps, do you remember how to get there..? I kind of do but not.. really..?"

"Yeah it's simple - I can uhh...get us there later." Patrick said pointedly, knowing better than to say the word 'apparate' on a street corner surrounded by Muggles. Peter, of course, would know what it was that Peter was saying.

Peter laughed and nodded, "Gotcha.. Maybe.. We should... Go into a shop.." He began rather awkwardly, as he grabbed his brothers arm to drag him into an alleyway. "And get some.. coffee!" He shouted, and after a bit of pushing and shoving they were in alleyway hidden from muggles. "Alright.. Go."

Patrick laughed at Peter as his twin shoved him and said jokingly "My my, someone is very eager to get their coffee now aren't they?" Patrick, of course, was excited to get to the pitch too, but he personally was not all that concerned about whether it happened now or later.

Peter was extremely concerned whether it happened now or later, and it was for this exact reason he dragged his brother into an alleyway. "Yes I'm very eager to get my coffee, so come on... Apparate us already, chop chop. We can look for living quarters around there."

"Alright, hold on!" Patrick said as he grabbed ahold of his brother's shirt and apparated the both of them to the site of the Quidditch Pitch - which they had seen once before after their new manager had taken them there in the aftermath of the Quidditch Draft. "Here we are!" Patrick said with a smile, gesturing upwards at the gigantic stadium.

"Haha! Wicked as always." Peter grinned as they appeared at the sight, he wheeled his suitcase over to the front once more and stared at it in a bit of awe before looking over to Patrick and smiling. "Alright, so lets find a place to rest around here or something, maybe a hotel room... Or.. I dunno.. A tavern..?"
