Appearance: Samuel is a tall man of an average weight and tone. He has dark brown hair and blue eyes. He looks just like any other Muggle man would, his only distinguishing feature being noticable scar from his brow to his cheek by his right eye. He tends to wear dressy casual clothing, and over the years has learned how to properly dress as a muggle.

Character Story
Personality: Samuel is a man of opinion. He tries to keep an open mind to new possibilities, but once his decision is made he sticks to it. He's more than willing to let others have opinions that differ from his, as long as there is a mutual respect that each will keep their own. He's worked hard to get where he is today, starting from the bottom and working his way up. He may not have the most important or glamorous job, but it's his and he earned it, and that's enough for him. He loves his wife and child, and would do anything to protect them.
When it comes to interacting with others however, he is very cautious and distrusting. He tends to keep to himself, and prefers to go unnoticed and to be left to himself. He doesn't open up much about anything except his work.

Personal History: Samuel grew up in a family that thought pure blood meant better. They were very anti-muggle and saw those who didn't agree as blood traitors. Growing up in a household like this meant that Samuel felt the same way for a long time. His mother and father were extremely strict and kept a short leash on him and his siblings, and this meant that he spent his time being sure to keep to what they felt he should be, rather than what he wanted to be.
After starting at Hogwarts, and while out of the watchful eye of his mother, Samuel had interactions with Muggles for the first time. At first, he didn't give them any thought and went about his time, hanging out with other pureblooded students and making his way through the years. However, as time went on he became friends with a Hufflepuff that he developed a bit of a crush on. She was smart, witty, and beautiful so he couldn't help but become infatuated with her. It didn't take long for him to find out that she was a muggleborn witch, and Samuel found himself in a bit of self doubt.
Seeing no way to appease his mother and his new discovery that muggles are not the monstrosities he's been fed to believe, he panicked and broke off his friendship with the Hufflepuff. Retreating into himself, he spend the rest of his years at Hogwarts focusing on his studies and trying his best to not create any waves.
After graduating, he returned home and started his career in the Ministry. He started as an intern on Level Five and was planning to work his way up to International Wizarding Espionage Department. His life became his work. He what he needed to do to keep his parents happy, again choosing to shut out any feelings he had against their beliefs and focus on his work. If he stopped himself from thinking about it, it kept things from blowing up in his face.
After the fall of Voldemort, the hand that his family played in the war came out. Some of his family were more active in their beliefs of blood status and fearing that he himself would somehow be lumped into their doings, Samuel decided to leave. He disappeared from his family's home and ran into hiding amongst the muggles of England.
Starting from scratch as a store clerk in a bookshop, he made a new life for himself as a muggle. Not bothering to change his name, since it was a fairly common one, he started a new life free from magic and his family's sufficating views. It was too long until he met a muggle girl around his age who had an appetite for reading. She would come to the store fairly often and the two would chat about the books around the shop.
Samuel had met Christina, a girl he fell head over heels for. After dating for about a year, he asked her to marry him. He found himself once again starting life anew, but this time with the woman he could never picture himself living without. In 1983 their daughter Maya was born and the family lived their lives in relative peace. Since he had given up his life as a wizard, Samuel never felt the need to tell his family about the wizarding world, and he would never admit he felt it would keep them all more safe. He didn't trust what his parents would do if they found out that their son had left them and become a 'blood traitor'.
When his daughter started to show magical tendencies he first tried to explain them away. It was easy at first, to come up with something plausible to explain the strange things that would sometimes happen. However, when Maya's Hogwarts letter arrived, it was time to confess that he was indeed a wizard and that the letter was not a joke. Samuel could tell that his wife was hurt, that he did not trust her with the secrets of his previous life, but together they made sure that Maya was not aware of the struggle their relationship was having over this fact.
Sending Maya off to school, he now spends his time attempting to continue his muggle life and mend the broken trust between himself and his wife. There are still secrets he doesn't wish to share with her or his daughter, but they seem to be surfacing on their own and he is having to face some of the past he had hoped would remain buried.
