LF: Aurors, Purebloods, Parents/Adults

[River Parker]

Name: River Jackson Michael Parker
Age: 42
Occupation: Auror
Graduated: From Hogwarts, as a Slytherin in 1972

For a very quick introduction:
River lied to his parents when he said to his mother that his daughters, Billie and Alicia-Rose were pureblood. His wife, who died giving birth, was actually muggle. Angela, his mother, found out around Christmas and he was sent to St Mungo's with spell damage, etc. Throughout his whole life, everybody thought River was this guy who was on his parents' side, about the whole pureblood thing, even though he did a couple of things that made it seem otherwise, such as go for the Auror internship. Now, he has publicly admitted that he is pro-muggle. That sort of puts him in a tricky situation, as the Ministry is obviously at a difficult stage and will be taken over by Voldemort at some point, but River will fight against his family and what-not and his daughter, Billie, will do the same. It adds a little bit to his story, so I thought I'd put it out there :P

Looking for;
Aurors, perhaps Order of the Phoenix Members who might recruit him: He knows how the 'opposite' side works, so he could be put to good use, even if they have to use veritaserum to see that he's not lying or feeding information back to the other side, he'd willingly do it. Obviously, that's in regards to the war.

I'm also looking for Aurors who he'd have worked with since the age of 22. He didn't join in straight out of school. He had a few bar jobs before that, working around England instead of getting a full job. So anyone who might've given him work too.

Purebloods; people he may have once been 'allies' with and people who now hate him. OR even people who are slowly starting to trust him because he's on the 'good' side.

Parents; River's a single dad and whilst he might have made a lot of mistakes, particularly when it came to Billie, he needs some advice, so someone who might want to help him out!

Parkers; anyone who is in contact with the Parkers might know him xD OR if you want to play a Parker *not ashamed to be self advertising here* see here. Or if you want to play Angela, River's mother or Elena, his sister, please pm me :D

Dante here works in Azkaban, so perhaps they've met while River was dropping off a prisoner or something?

Have Jolon here, he's a pure-blood. Also a guard at azkaban!

Hmm, thread ideas... *chin rub of great thought* Perhaps, Jolon's family is very poor pure-blood, but it's all possible. They could meet in Diagon Alley, Jolly tends to do weird things in public without really realizing it, and thus attract attention.

Oh! I also forgot, parents wise, I have Benjamin Strong who is a single dad too!

I'd LOVE to have a thread with Benjamin though. Seeing as they're single dads, they could relate :3 And also, Benjamin sounds really awesome. I've secretly been wanting to do a thread with him for some time (and will probably bug you for a thread with him with a different character later on >.<) Also, they could be friends as Benjamin is only a couple of years above River, so they'd have probably known each other in school. Jolon is nice, just an unstable kind of nice?

And Benjamin IS really awesome, he's particularly enthusiastic about Magical Creatures and just his job in general, and also children. He loves children very much, but I mean you would think that would make sense since he is a teacher. And you can bug me as much as you want, I'm ALWAYS up for RP absolutely zero complaints from my side. And yes they probably did know each other in school, and might have cut ties afterwards, like a lot of people do. And naturally, he would have heard of his children, maybe he caught Billie causing a bit of trouble now and again, since Ben is a bit of a rule-follower and tries to enforce it with a firm hand, but he isn't mean about it at the very least, he gives what the person deserves. And as for the Niffler, I highly doubt Benjamin indulges in such a thing, seeing as it is more of a "childs" article for the school, haha. He also isn't much to judge on someone's blood status, everyone is one and the same to him, even though he personally would never choose the muggle life.

Where do you think they would meet? :) Because I have a few options, including in Diagon Alley in Flourish&Blotts, and if by any chance Billie takes Care of Magical Creatures, then perhaps a parent-teacher conference on her trouble making, Benjamin does enjoy a good cup of tea!

Anyway, tell me what you think and what you want and we'll compromise and plan it all out! Also, sorry for overly long post. xD

I have Carter here who is a pureblood and, technically, an adult. He's twenty-five by nature, but his current appearance puts him in his forties at least. He is a Metamorphagus and a Beast Breeder, so I'm not sure how River would take to knowing that.

I've got Maya Parker & Samuel Parker. At this point Maya doesn't know River at all... not even the name, so unless we wanted to do something in the future with them (or just wait until it would make sense in the current time for them to meet) is fine with me. And with Samuel, we can do past or even have them run into each other in the current time line. :)

Liz - YAY. Past thread with them as kids. Or maybe teenagers? I think what could be an interesting thread is River admitting to Samuel that he doesn't agree with the idea that muggles are scum and that maybe 'mommy' is wrong xD And Samuel's like... I AGREE. AND THEY'RE ALL LIKE, BROTHER! Yeah, random. But yeah. I'm going to stop rambling. Or a thread with them arguing because Samuel thinks River's been using muggles? ORRRRR... maybe just an innocent thread of them being... innocent :P

Laura - I think I read that Henry was a Gryffindor? Do you think he would probably have been prejudiced against River throughout his school years? That could've meant there was bitterness, which might've been 'healed' from their time working together, as he's been in the Auror department for 17+ years now. Technically 21, as he did his Auror internship for four years, and has been an actual Auror for 17 years, so yeah >.< Despite his parent's views, he also has a strong sense of right and wrong, which is what lead River to become an Auror in the first place :)

Actually not sure Henry would have been all that bothered about the house, unless River played Quidditch then the competitive nature of Henry would have come out and perhaps some of the anti-Slytherin element might have come forth.

Henry didn't immediately become an Auror, he went straight into being a Hit Wizard until a really nasty attack nearly left him paralysed. Through sheer bloody mindnesses and determination he went and joined the Auror department, actually should say that Henry didn't have much of a positive comment about the Auror's, until he saw it as the only life line he had. As he was forced to quit the Hit wizards, or end up being desk bound.

No, I don't think he'd have played Quidditch... it wasn't really his thing. He'd probably have supported the team because obviously he'd have watched Slytherin to win, but he wouldn't necessarily have played. So yeah.

Just throwing it out there, maybe River showed Henry the ropes when he first joined the Auror department? He'd have been there for 9 years when Henry transferred, admittedly four of those being his intern years but, well, yeah. I don't know what Henry did when he first joined, so if it's plausible... then I offer River :D

They'd know each other through Carter's father, a Senior Auror by the name of Erik Wensley. Erik is 45, so I'd imagine that he would have brought Carter and his sister Vanessa around on occasion, if there wasn't a lot going on at the time.

I have Asher here. He is a pureblood who hasn't always followed the rules within the community, so he could definitely connect with River on that level.

He's also a father who basically abandoned his half-blood daughter when she was four so he knows about parenting mistakes.

Rachel - Hm, okay. Do you know how long Erik's been an Auror for? It'd make sense, of course. Okay :3 I'm sure they could be acquaintances. Not necessarily friends but they'd know each other so... Unsure what they could do for a thread idea though.. Any ideas?

Izzy - I really like the idea of Asher and River connecting on some level and think they could be pretty good friends. I don't know how they'd meet, but I think they could be friends, maybe they go out for a drink one night of the week and hang out and stuff? Like, general guy stuff? I think it'd be good for River to have a friend like that, that's away from work. Any ideas how they could meet? Brain hurts right now...
