Despite her short attention span and tendency to not read for long periods of time, she does actually have a rather good memory. Her good memory tends to show most in Astronomy, Care of Magical Creatures, and quoting plays. She can remember constellations well and recite knowledge of creatures off the top of her head well and as she enjoys reading plays and dramas a lot, though happens to dislike acting because of anti-social nature, she can recite quotes from them off the top of her head as well.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Alice is tall for her age, standing at 5 feet and 9 inches or about 173 cm. She is very pale. Her hair is wavy and slightly curly. Naturally, it is blonde, however in summer between her fifth and sixth year Alice dyed it so that she is now brunette. She usually has it cut to her shoulders, not too short, but not too long. Her eyes are a molten silver that tend to change in intensity depending upon the intensity of her emotions. She is petite and doll-like, despite her tall height. Her features are soft but have a very tired look to them. Alice has the tendency to talk in a tired and soft voice, but in moments of passion her voice can be surprisingly loud and vocal.

Alice's sense of fashion tends to vary. Over the years it has definitely changed. As a first year and second year, she preferred to wear clothes that always had some splash of blue within the outfit. She preferred more casually formal clothes, tending to go for jeans, sweaters, button down shirts and the like. As she became a third year, she added dresses into her wardrobe. By fourth year, the colors of her wear had become darker and she tended to become less concerned about what she wore, though she drew upon a very distinct hatred of dressing up.

PERSONALITY, TRAITS & QUIRKS

At first glance, Alice is very quiet and anti-social. She appears to be very tired and has the look of someone who prefers to avoid things then heading straight into them. While she does appear to be a knowledgeable person, she also appears to be a person who would rather trade that knowledge for a moment of peace.

However, in actuality, Alice is, for the most part, a very cheerful person. She tends to come off as a person who loves to laugh and loves to smile. She has a large love of all things that are childish, if not that which can be considered as silly, never seeming to outgrow them. She has a large love fun, but vaguely knows where her limit is for the most part is. She tends to only appear shy and quiet to those that she feels uncomfortable or does not know very well.

Alice is not sane, appearing at times completely bonkers or utterly mad in the worst possible ways. She, however, hardly seems to notice the fact that is and sometimes actually takes serious offense when people point it out or call her insane, reacting violently at times.

Alice can be seen as a pessimistic person- though she hardly considers herself one(though what pessimist does?)- despite all her cheerfulness. However, her cheerful demeanor in fact comes from pessimism. What she believes is that if instead of constantly believing things will always aiming high and setting oneself up for unbelievable goals and thus setting oneself up for failure, it is better to merely lower one's standards, or rather goals, to a point that they will inevitably not come true, because you will have achieved higher then them because they were low, thus making you not feel depressed because you had originally set yourself for an impossible goal.

She can be described as a brave person; however, she seems to lack a certain confidence in herself- though it always not obvious- and occasionally looks down on herself. She enjoys reading, but has trouble doing it for long period of times due to her short attention span.

Alice is rather smart and possess a good memory, however she dislikes displaying in anyway that she is or 'showing off' or 'being a know-it-all' as she might say, in fear that she may end up putting others educations' at a standstill or even causing them to decline. As such, her participation in classes tends to be very minimum, despite the fact that half the time she actually knows the answer, actually wanting to give others a chance to learn. She only tends to participate when no one or very few people are participating or in the case of someone who she would classify as a 'know-it-all' is constantly ruining others chances to participate.

Of course, like every other person, Alice has a dark side. She can be manipulative, cunning, and even particularly cruel. However, these traits only usually come out when Alice irritated or angered. When she is irritated or more especially angered, she does not mind who she crushes, who she manipulates, or she destroys to get what she wants, as long as she gets what she wants and the main goal and main prize is not harmed.

Alice has a very subtle temper- something that may prove rather odd considering that both her parents and her brother all seem to have rather explosive tempers. When she is angry, it is rather hard to tell as she tends to act very similar to her usual behavior, only giving showing that she is angry by actually displaying her 'Slytherin' traits which she usually does not more openly display.

Alice's cheerful demeanor hides her more violent side, though if one only knows her temper it may not seem so surprising that she is actually so violent. People who know her well enough may wonder where on earth she got her temper, but the fact is that she could have gotten it from either of her parents, both of whom are rather violent. However, the chance is that she may have gotten it from her mother since that is who she is much more similar to.

While for the most part Alice is only violent when she is angry, there are exceptions. When she is violent, she tends do anything from throw things, use a various array of spells, using physical violence, or using anything in between or far beyond, though she does have her limits and boundaries that she is simply not willing to cross. She can, at times, seem to come across as a slight sadist.

Alice distrusts muggles somewhat due to her father. She views them as ignorant. However, she has no problem with muggleborns. She has a dislike of physical violence and torture, finding it completely inhumane. She rarely holds grudges and is not one to follow the usual string of what society or the crowd does. Therefore, she does not tend to follow traditional rivalries or anything of that nature.

HISTORY & PAST

Alice was born in Ireland, but at a young age she and her family moved to Britain, as such Alice has no attachment to Ireland. Her parents both decided to move from Ireland shortly after Alice turned three years old because of problems within Alice's mother's family that were affecting them.

Previous to Alice's parents' marriage, her father, Charles, never knew that her mother, Helen, was a witch. After the marriage, upon learning that Helen was a witch, Charles did not take the news well. Her parents got into fights regularly, Charles stopped working, forcing Helen take upon a difficult and unpleasant, though well paying, job to support their well off life style. Charles neglected the family, and ignored his children. The fights affected Alice's older brother, Jonathan, the most, causing him to actually grow a split personality later on in life and grow rather reclusive. Charles is actually the cause of Alice's mistrust in muggles and her slight dislike in some parts of muggle culture since she occasionally associates muggle things with him.

Despite her family's well off state, most of the money they have is made by her mother who is forced to work a difficult and unpleasant job that, while it pays great amounts, makes the family life somewhat more unpleasant and the fights worse. For Alice, Hogwarts is an escape from the mess at home and a chance to start anew.

In her first year, Alice could not quite claim that her year had been filled with fun packed adventures and never-ending excitement, perhaps something that was caused by her rather killjoy personality and studious habits that left her always to be found in the library or found in the library. However, that is not to say she did not make any friends. She managed to befriend one Harris Smith, who somehow dug beneath her cold exterior and found the more childish aspects of her personalities, aspects that got along quite well with his own personality. Of course, that is not to say he did not irk her continuously. Later on in the year, the two met one Daniel Morin, of whom would later become Alice's crush and then beau. The two met after what was considered a prank on Harris' part, after he dared Alice to steal Daniel's wand and she happened to be rather successful in the matter. The event later made the three become friends and Alice's only friends for quite a while.

Alice considered her second year to be rather boring in nature, despite the fiasco of the Chamber of Secrets. Unlike her friend Daniel, Alice had not taken any pleasure in the events taking place, instead becoming much more cautious by it all. It was in this year that Alice would meet Leon de Lionheart, perhaps the only person that Alice would consider to be an enemy, though the feeling was never quite reciprocated. Upon meeting, Leon assumed Alice to be like the stereotypical Slytherin on sight, a fact that irked Alice. The two immediately fell into a large argument, as to how long it lasted could be debatable. However, after a series fighting and arguing, the two realized they had certain things in common, such for instance their common passion for drama. The meeting left Leon with what seemed to be a grudging respect for Alice, but Alice's dislike was never quite gone, especially when she discovered that her best friend Daniel happened to be rivals with Leon.

Alice's third year involved nothing remarkable and Alice met nobody knew, still being rather shy in nature. The only thing that could be remarkable, in Alice's opinion, was the news of the escape of Sirius Black. Unlike most people, Alice was hardly horrified about the news, instead being horribly fascinated by it, almost to an abnormal level. Her only reasons for it were because firstly she thought it remarkable that the man had done the supposedly impossible and she was also merely fascinated by the mere thought of a real live criminal on the lose.

Fourth year came along and unlike her other years this one was filled with gaining many new friends and revelations. The most important revelation of this year was perhaps the when Alice had revealed her feelings to her friend Daniel that she had been keeping for a year or two, but had only recently slowly discovered. The revelation happened after a rather chaotic adventure that ended with Alice kissing Daniel in a rather delirious state and Daniel calling her insane. The event ended in a fight and Alice going through several schemes to get her what she wanted- which was to merely get Daniel to admit his feelings. Of course, somewhere during this fight Daniel ended up kissing Star, a Gryffindor that was befriended to Leon that Alice vaguely became an acquaintance of. However, in the end and using Leon as a tool to her schemes to make Daniel jealous- though Leon ended up being oblivious to it all- Alice managed to get Daniel to ask her out and it ended up ending quite well in her favor.

Her fifth year was much different from any of her others. At the start, Daniel began ignoring her and she only saw him in class, and even then it was rare to see him. It seemed that he was avoiding her, something that quickly gained her annoyance and slight anger. It didn't help when Harris began hanging around her less also. She spent more time around Lee, Michelle, and her other friends, however her discontent with Daniel grew and grew. When she figured out he was spending time with other people- most of whom were other girls- jealousy started kicking in. She began trying to track him down, somewhat desperate to figure out exactly why he seemed to be avoiding her, however it was only when she wasn't trying to find him that they bumped into each other. Their meeting was brief and she got answers, but all Alice heard were pathetic excuses that made no sense. The meeting got into the Niffler, or at least part of it since Alice had technically had it in a broom cupboard. She could only be happy that their kiss had not.

Somewhere within this mess, Alice's father had died. Her entire house had been swept into flames and it was quite inevitable that he had died. Alice faced confusion from this, but somehow could not bring herself to feel compassion or pity for her dead father.

Her anger only worsened when she found out that Harris was dating one of her friends, Bex, for practically a year and had not bothered to tell her- and from Parkinson of all people! Angry, she snuck into the boy's dorm, intent on trying to set up a trap that would get Daniel( and likely Harris also since they shared a dorm). Unfortunately, Hunter caught her, so after much persuasion she was only able to leave a letter.

Not too much after, Alice discovered that not only had her surname been changed, but that she had been engaged. Her fiance? One Tobias Chaplin, a fourth year Slytherin.
