- Cillian has been told countless times throughout his life that he is the mirror image of his father, and the impressionable boy was never certain whether or not he enjoyed such comparisons. After all, he knew that his dad had been a legendary prankster during his time at Hogwarts, and while this was certainly a mantle that Cillian was rather proud to assume he was also rather off-put by the fact that people seemed to expect things of him that he would never do simply because his father had done them. Cillian was a troublemaker no doubt about it, but if half the stories about his father were true, the man was a bloody psychopath!
Like both of his parents, Cillian has light brown hair and a thin face, and the tangled style in which his long hair has grown has only furthered the likeness to his father. Thankfully though, there was one attribute that Cillian did not inherit from his parents – and that is his height. For years he had thought that he would be cursed to being as small as his mother, or else spend years as one of the shortest kids in his year like his father before finally growing to a respectable height, but Cillian lucked out in the gene pool and by the time he was thirteen he was already one of the tallest kids in his entire year!
Cillian benefited from having a father who was a Professional Quidditch Player in that he always had access to state of the art exercise equipment, and as someone who intended to be a great Quidditch player when he grew up, Cillian was certain to take advantage of them as often as he possibly could. As such, by the time that he left for Hogwarts Cillian was already building a muscular frame that would continue to fill out as he reached his teenage years.
Like most kids, Cillian prefers to dress casually as a sign of just how cool he is – or rather of just how cool he thinks that he is. Cillian’s image of his own incredible awesomeness has only been further bolstered by the fact that his parents were constantly building up his already insatiable ego, and so he dresses like something between a punk and a jock.

- Cillian Knight is a fun-loving individual, though admittedly his type of ‘fun’ often comes at the expense of other people. Cillian doesn’t care about this of course, to him these other people are little more than targets to be pranked at his leisure. Pranking and troublemaking has been encoded into Cillian’s DNA, and even if he had wanted to he would probably have been unable to resist the urges to indulge in such mischief.
Whether for good or ill though, Cillian never showed even the slightest of desires to deviate from that path, and indeed he was given plenty of assistance growing up from his father on all of the skills necessary to follow this path. While Jeremey Knight didn’t quite want his son to follow in his footsteps and ignore his academics completely, he knew that pranking was a much better alternative to some of the other things he could get up to in school, and he preferred to make sure that his son had a safer outlet for what were sure to be less than perfect tendencies.
And indeed, Cillian Knight found these antics to be a welcome release and developed a reputation as a decent troublemaker in his own right – though not nearly so devious as his father – but for him troublemaking was more a hobby than anything to which he should actually devote any stretch of his time. After all, he might not be a ‘stupid Ravenclaw nerd’ like his Aunt Julie, but he certainly wanted to do well enough in Hogwarts to be able to do something cool when he left Hogwarts.
Quidditch was likewise simply a hobby for Cillian, who could never see himself following into that career path, but at the same time he didn’t know what it was that he would want to do with his life when the time finally came. And so while Cillian trained regularly due to his love of the game – and the great exercise that it provided – it was not something that consumed him.
In fact, Cillian has often reflected that he doesn’t have a single interest which has so consumed and driven him as other members of his family have found, and at the same time that worries and pleases him. On the one hand, he cannot shake the feeling that there might be something wrong with him, but on the other he is glad to find a nice area of distance between himself and his family. After all, like any young kid, he was determined not to be too much like his parents.
When he is not goofing off, however, Cillian’s differences from his family shine through like a golden beacon. Cillian revealed himself to be exceptionally driven and motivated in life, and in stark contrast to the expectations heaped upon him actually turned out to be a reasonable studious individual.
Unfortunately, it would only be the best of times that would see Cillian follow through on his good intentions, as he constantly finds himself surrounded by outside factors influencing him to laziness and backwards behavior. The most omnipresent of these influences is his younger brother Ronan. The brothers are extremely close and Ronan possesses none of Cillian’s reservations. And so while Cillian would occasionally take a step backwards from things, Ronan is almost always there to drag him back into the thick of things.
As a result of this, Cillian has never been exactly certain about where he stands on several things, seemingly caught in the middle of two completely contradictory stances on many of the most important questions that he has asked about himself. But he prides himself on those qualities which he knows that he can lay claim to. His dedication to whatever he puts himself to, and his powerfully decisive personality are things which he uses to define himself – however accurately or inaccurately.
Coming from a closely knit family, Cillian learned the value of people you could trust implicitly at a young age, and so his dedication to those he cares about is one of his strongest traits. In addition to this, Cillian grew up hearing stories from both his parents about their actions during the Second Wizarding War, and developed a powerful sense of right and wrong, and a fiery dedication to defending that line.
However, Cillian is not always the most ethical of kids, and many times he finds himself lapsing into old habits. Occasionally Cillian’s jokes go a little too far, and he winds up hurting people more than he intended to. Not to mention the fact that he is prone to say stupid and hurtful things without thinking about them – which is one of the reasons that Cillian has managed to convince people (accidentally so) that he’s determined to be a troublemaker when in fact he is not.
Cillian’s biggest problem though, is his highly competitive nature – though of course it is only in certain situations that it manifests itself as such. While it can be a helpful trait under some circumstances, Cillian doesn’t quite know when to give it a rest, and so he tends to take things too seriously, and turn even the smallest things into fierce competitions for total dominance – competitions which he uses to prove his worthiness to himself.

- Cillian Knight was born on March 30, 2011 as the firstborn son to Jeremey Knight and Kirsa Knight (Nee Fitzroy), and was immediately born into a family that seemed determined to spoil him rotten. Both his parents, his grandparents, and his Aunts and Uncles seemed to think that Cillian was the most adorable thing to ever grace the face of the earth, and the infant need no more than blink in order to earn choruses of how amazing he was.
Fortunately for Cillian’s mental upbringing, the birth of his younger brother Ronan a year later, along with a number of cousins over the next few years would deflect some of the attention away from him, preventing what would have seemed like an inevitable case of a swollen head. Of course, Cillian still came from a family that was nonetheless very loving, and grew up in a very sheltered and nurturing environment. In fact, Cillian’s upbringing was so sheltered that to this day he still finds most injustice and unfairness in the world to be shocking.
Unlike most older siblings, Cillian has no recollection of the day that he first heard that he would be getting a baby brother or sister, because he was barely six months old when the news came that the Knight family would be adding another member. Indeed, Cillian can no more remember the day that his younger brother Ronan was born than he can remember the date of his own birth.
In short, the two brothers have been together for literally as long as either of them can remember, and as such have developed an incredibly close relationship – even by the standards of brothers. There is hardly anything that the boys do not know about each other, and indeed they spend far more time with one another than was probably healthy for either of the boys. However, they have treasured their bond more than anything else, and the two of them have spent almost all of their time together as children.
Cillian and Ronan immediately clung to each other from a very young age, gravitating towards one another as though by some supernatural force which told them that they were destined to be immeasurably close when they grew older. Cillian was the more active of the two, with Ronan tending to be the type to lazily sit around and wait for interesting things to happen, but once Cillian got things started it was Ronan who took charge.
When Cillian was nearing his third birthday, he learned that he would be getting another new brother or sister, and though his mother told everyone that they were to keep their fingers crossed for a girl Cillian immediately rejected such sentiments and prayed for another baby brother. In the end Cillian got his wish when Cody Knight was born, but Cillian would never quite have the same relationship with Cody as he did with Ronan.
For starters, the fact that Cody was still a baby meant that he could not play with his older brothers for quite a few years, and even when he did get older their mother was always horribly over protective of her youngest son. Though she did not get the daughter that she had wanted, she did coddle her youngest somewhat like one, and Cillian and Ronan quickly lost patience with trying to get him away from her.
Of course Cillian was very close with Cody as well, but the almost disturbingly close ties that existed between Cillian and Ronan were not present between the pair and Cody. Still, by the standards of the Knight children, what would be considered a not-as-tight relationship was still much closer than most kids their age shared with their siblings. Indeed Cillian would be surprised upon starting his time at Hogwarts to learn that most considered his relationship with Cody to be far closer than they would ever want to be with their siblings.
Cillian was eight years old when he used magic for the first time, and indeed the manner in which he first used magic was quite like what many would have expected from the young boy. After having gotten caught trying to steal a cookie from the kitchen by his mother, Cillian was promptly banished to his room until dinnertime. The boy had sat on his bed staring at the wall in anger until – to his immense shock – he had literally began to burn a hole in the wall!
Of course, there had never been any doubt in Cillian’s mind about whether or not he was magical, but it had still come to him as quite a shock when the wall of his bedroom had started smoldering. Thankfully, his parents had raced upstairs when he had started screaming, and Cillian had spent the next two weeks trying to get them magic to repeat itself – with absolutely no success whatsoever.
Cillian’s upbringing was a rather privileged one, his father was a Professional Quidditch player, which meant that he never wanted for anything and his family had more money than most. While he was never quite spoiled, Cillian always had just about any toy that he wanted so long as it wasn’t absurdly expensive, and the family always took several nice vacations a year. His father was home almost all the time thanks to the benefits of being a Professional Quidditch Player, and his mother was also usually home quite often, so Cillian developed a close relationship with both of his parents as well.
Unlike Ronan, Cillian is not ashamed to admit that he loves his parents, though he does feel that he needs to censor himself quite a bit when saying just how much. After all, Cillian still has his pride to worry about here.
Cillian didn’t have many restrictions growing up, his father was a total pushover and could barely stand to punish him for the most horrendous of offenses, and it was easy enough to by-step his mother’s attention. As such, he’s developed a tendency to think himself above any kind of authority whatsoever.
At the age of eleven, Cillian started his First Year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He had been told for years by his father that Ravenclaw was the House of stupid nerds and that Slytherin was the House of pure evil, and though he was sure that his father was only joking part of him was legitimately afraid that his father would disown him if he was Sorted into either of those Houses.
Thankfully that crisis was averted as Cillian was sorted into Gryffindor, but he could not avoid a different problem – one which he had not even known was coming. Having spent so long with such a close bond with his brothers, and indeed his parents – but even he wasn’t going to admit that – Cillian was quite unprepared for being on his own, and cried through his first night at Hogwarts. After that though, he adapted quickly to the changes, and while he missed his family horribly he was able to make it through the year.
While he was certainly no model student, Cillian took his studies much more seriously than anyone who knew his last name would have thought. Indeed troublemaking was a hobby to Cillian rather than an actual maxim by which to live, and much to the disappointment of some – but to the relief of others – he found other ways to occupy his time when the pranking got tedious.
In his Second Year, when Ronan joined him, Cillian became much more determined of a rule-breaker though, as his younger brothers’ more fervent rule-breaking tendencies brought out his own troublemaking side.
