Grass Blizzards

[Kael Rath]

"Ahh!" Kael became ecstatic when Cara swooped up some of the stands. "Thank you sooo much. Really." It didn't really matter though. He was planning on doing the same thing when he got to cleaning the stands. If the Prefect was going to turn him in for it, then so be it, but he had a feeling she wouldn't. Maybe that feeling was completely wrong... but oh well.

Cara moved forward, fluid grace in her movements and pace as she walked, her pale green eyes glittering with amusement as she continued deftly twirling her wand between her fingers, "Mind, a little trusting for one who makes his entertainment from bending rules, aren't we?"

"Just cause I've been in detention a few times doesn't mean that all I do is break the rules all the time. Maybe slightly above average, but I'm sure that's it." He nodded. He was actually a little offended when people assumed that all he and Cris ever did was go around thinking of new ways to get in trouble.

Cara lifted a brow almost curiously as she glanced briefly at the younger boy, "You don't consider it an accomplishment instead?" Fred and George certainly did, and that other new kid in his first year, Jeremey Knight. My, blacklisted since First Year should be rather the accomplishment..

"Okay, okay I do," Kael admitted. "I take pleasure and honor in my work. But I can't go around acting all cool for the things I've done because, well, that's not cool. You know?"

He shrugged, pushing the shears forward.

[Cara Lorenzo]

"Ah, honour," Cara noted simply as she flicked her wand again at another set of stands, "and how does that apply to your 'work' work otherwise?" If she was going to be stuck here with Rath for the next half an hour or so, she might as well as make conversation.

"You've just managed to confuse me with only a few simple words," Kael said, arching a brow. "Work, like school work? I don't care much for that. Who does?"

The boy laughed. Still, he managed to keep decent enough grades most of the time.

Cara was amused. Granted, she didn't know which she was more amused of - the fact that Rath regarded so little of his school work or the fact that she actually sounded like a legitimate adult questioning her junior. Neither was supposed to be positive, that said.

"Wouldn't be a first time I hear this, admittedly," she chuckled. "I don't suppose you have a back-up plan? Quidditch, perhaps?"

"Maybe," he shrugged. "Or maybe I'll just be a rock star or something. Me and Cris like to play now and then." He said this in such a way that one couldn't really tell if he was being serious or not.

"What about you? I'm sure you've already got plenty of jobs lined up."

Cara lifted a well-trimmed brow and involuntarily exhaled a breath of laughter. That was a first. There had always been people who raved on and on about wanting to become a rockstar, but rarely did anyone actually mean what they said. Kael Rath was a rather strange one. "Quite the ambition there, I'm impressed," she noted with a trace of amusement in her voice.

She tipped her shoulders in a bit of a shrug at his question, pausing for a moment to think before she begun responding. Somehow, this was turning out to be a fairly decent conversation. And well, it better be. They were going to be here for the next what, forty five minutes?

Not how she imagined spending her afternoon. Oh well.
