Art, how Helen loved it. It was a particularly easy subject to substitute for and not only that, but she thoroughly enjoyed the subject. She was able to bring out her more creative and odd characteristics without it being so utterly obvious and without ruining her reputation as the 'serious teacher'. It was all good really. Plus, Art wasn't some awesome subject like, say, Science. How she despised that subject.

It was currently Lunch time and Helen was hardly in the mood right now to go out for Lunch and of course going home wasn't an option because of recent events. A dark scowl came to her face on that thought and she quickly stuffed her sandwhich- a neat PB&J- into her mouth so as to distract herself. She was currently eating in the teacher's lounge, deciding that that would be the best place to distract herself.

Sighing, she took another bite into her sandwhich.

Re: Withn the Lounge

Coming to Helen's rescue, Declan, a friendly co-worker, took a seat opposite to the woman, in order to distract her. "Hello, Helen," he said with a smile on his lips, as he opened his food box and took an apple out of it. "I hope you don't mind if I sit here?" he then asked, holding the apple in mid-air, waiting for the woman's response to his somewhat rude arrival.

Helen glanced up, her gaze meeting that of Declan. She smiled slightly, not quite minding his arrival as she might usually would. Of course, she was a tad paranoid that he might bring up the recent events, but from what she knew about him he was rather kind so she did doubt it and he was proving to be a bit of a distraction so far.

"Not at all." she said, making a gesture so as to show that the seat was perfectly available.

"Great," Declan replied, bit into his apple and chewed, letting his look go over the other teachers in the room. This had always been a weird imagination, when he'd been a student: All the teachers in one place, hanging out, and most likely discussing whatever bad thing this or that student had done. He'd always imagined the teacher's lounge to be like hell's kitchen. Granted, Declan had always been one of the great students, who hardly got into any trouble of any sort. But still.

And well, just what he'd expected the teachers to do back then, was pretty much what they often did nowadays. "So," he started, when his mouth was empty again, and looked at his co-worker. "How have your girls been today? All too bad?" he asked with a small chuckle and a friendly smile, then taking another bite of his apple.

She gave a small smile at the other teacher before glancing down at her food, lightly poking it. She'd never eaten something as simple as a PB&J, at least not until she'd moved into the muggle world. This type of food was common place, especially at work. She was too frugal to get anything that might be a bit more tastier, complex, or especially cost more. That was the key.

She pushed the thoughts away and bit into the sandwich, idly glancing at Declan. She put her sandwich when the other spoke, swallowing as he did. "Okay, I suppose." she said, frowning a bit. "They aren't too bad at times, though I was substituting Art, so they occasionally tend to get a bit rowdy and just start playing around and socializing." That was one of the downsides of the subject. Because it was so lax they tended to think they could just play around and merely claim they were doing work.

"I see," Declan responded and nodded his head, then taking another bite of his apple. "Art is tough like that," he continued, when his mouth was empty again. He'd never been good in his own Art classes, and therefore had been one of the kids who were just chilling the whole time. Now that he was a teacher, he'd noticed just how annoying those students were. People who simply didn't put any effort or interest in a class were so frustrating.

Helen nodded in agreement, taking another bite of her sandwich. "So," she started, bite already having been swallowed. "how has your day been going?" she asked curiously. She knew he taught English, a subject she had some fondness for though perhaps not entirely as her fondness lied within fiction mostly, but she hardly knew how most liked that.

"Good," Declan said happily and finished off his apple before he continued to talk. "We started a new lecture, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and the girls are super excited about it. We started last week, and they're very motivated and adding wonderful thoughts to the classes. It is quite refreshing after such a dull month of Grammar revising," he explained and chuckled.

"Ah, I'm sure they would be happy about that. That book is wonderful, though perhaps a bit too...mushy for my own tastes." she said, familiar with the famous muggle book. "Lucky you teach girls." she chuckled. "None of the boys at Smeltings would want to be an inch near Romeo and Juliet." she mused, absentmindedly thinking of the boys she also had to substitute at times.

"I was thinking about trying a drama performance, actually, doing Romeo and Juliet. I bet the girls would eagerly sign up for it, but I'd like some boys to join in. Reckon the Smeltings kids might be interested in playing with those girls?" he said, a little hopefully, even if he was pretty sure the chances were low.

Helen thought about it for a moment. The reputation Smeltings had was entirely correct in Helen's opinion, but there were some children at the school who fit the profile. "Some of them might be interested I think." she said, nodding. "Though, I think they might be more interested, being boys and all, in the roles that get more involved with fighting. Can't say if any of them will be quick to audition for Romeo, not unless any of them just want to be in the spotlight." she said, a thoughtful look on her face.

Declan sighed as Helen confirmed what he’d thought. “Ah well, I guess it’s always worth a try. If we don’t get enough boys, I can always put girls in the male roles. They would be up for it, I’m pretty sure, though disappointed about the lacking interest of the boys.” The class that he was doing the lecture with was in a tough age regarding boys right now, as the males were just becoming more and more interesting. It both amused and annoyed Declan, and for one of many times in his life he was glad about Smeltings and Marshall being two different schools and not one mixed one.

Helen smiled slightly. "I'm pretty sure you'd have to do that anyway. Put girls in male roles, that is. Romeo and Juliet is mostly made up of many male roles, except for a few, is it not?" she queried, tilting her head to the side slightly.

"True, true," Declan said with a faint nod of his head and stared at some invisible spot in the distance as his thoughts drifted away. "Sad, though, isn't it? When going to those boys again, you should advertise the drama club. Which is yet to be founded, if even, but well, whatever," Declan said and ended his rather excited speech with a much less excited voice," chucking the apple into a nearby bin.

Helen nodded. "Yes." she said. "I probably should bring it up with the English teacher at Smeltings. I'm sure they would like the idea." she said. Or at least she hoped they would. After all, she could never know, being a substitute an all. She only knew the teachers their so much and could not define their tastes so much.

As she had finished her lunch, Helen found that it was time for her to leave. "Well," She started, standing up. "I'm afraid I have to leave. Nice chatting with you." And with that she left.
