Francis Elliot was nervous. Extremely, uncomfortably, ungodly nervous. It was the day before the quidditch draft, so he had reason to be. It was his one big break, his one chance at making seeker for a professional team. He had worked so hard for so many years, and now he was getting the opportunity to show off his skills and hope they were enough to get him signed. His parents had told him that he would do well, he had the talent, he was sure to get drafted, and even if he didn't there was always next year. But Francis didn't want next year, he wanted this to work out now.

The young man was at a quidditch pitch in Australia. Intent upon some final practice, he had went to the place about midday, only to find that everyone else had the same idea as him. The place was filled with other quidditch hopefuls, and while usually that would have bothered the 19-year-old, today he only saw it as a way to improve his skills further. He would have to maneuver through the players, duck, weave, and speed through them in hunt of the golden winged ball he was supposed to find. It was just better practice for him. He looked at the snitch he had in his hand, then at his broom (a Nimbus 2000 which he cared for like it was a beloved child), and readied himself to let it go.

Peter and his brother Patrick were as one might say gracefully flying about the busy Quidditch Pitch, and for all eyes to see they were certainly the center of attention. The boys were flying on their Nimbus 2001's, head to toes, handle to tail together. In unison, performing tricks and everything without even communicating, they didn't need to, it was a telepathic communication between twins. Though, along with this they were always throwing a Quaffle back and forth. Mind you a Quaffle they had stolen, from one of the Chasers, and it seemed that this Chaser couldn't find or catch them. Which could be considered a bad thing at the day before draft.

"This is fantastic!" Peter grinned over to Patrick, as they did yet another obnoxious and yet very pretty loop. On those black Nimbus 2001's they were certainly quite the thing to look at it, as they looked perfectly in unison. It was nice.

"Totally is!" Patrick replied with a grin as he caught the Quaffle behind his back and quickly spun it back around before flipping it across to his twin. "I can't believe we haven't thought of this till now!" It was quite the superb idea, and it was definitely getting them a few looks from the onlooking fans and managers - which of course was a very good thing indeed.

Francis caught sight of a pair of players flying in unison, doing some pretty nice stunts together. The quiet young man couldn't deny that they had skill, and that worried him a bit. He watched them for a few minutes before mounting his broom, and took a final glance at the snitch he had in his hand. Letting that go, he waited for about thirty seconds, not paying attention to where it was headed, knowing it wasn't real practice if he followed it the entire time. The golden ball was gone before he knew it, and quickly he kicked off from the pitch and zoomed into the air.

His attention was drawn back to the two players in the air, and now that he was closer to them, he could recognize them as twins, or at least they seemed to be twins. Francis made a note to try to avoid them if he could, because they seemed more interested in showing off than anything. He diverted his attention, focusing on trying to spot a glint of gold and a flutter of wings amongst the groups of people, ducking and weaving in and out of the groups with ease.

The boys kept zooming about, and Peter could only laugh and nod at his brothers words. "I think this has to be the way we enter the field from now on! For a game! Alright?" He shouted over all the noise and wooshing of other broomsticks and players going by them. He wanted to be heard and thus was forced to be a little louder than usual and considering how loud the boys were period, it would be easily said that they were practically screaming at each other.

Regardless, Peter really did want this to be the way they entered the field. Perhaps to a bit of loud music and dramatic lights. That would certainly be the way, it would be fantastic and show-stopping and everyone would love them. Except the haters, but the haters could go away nobody cared about them enough.

"Totally, with blaring loud music playing over the Pitch too!" Patrick said with a nod, enjoying the thought of how cool that would look! They would definitely become fan-favorites pretty quickly with stunts like this, not to mention that it would be extremely fun, which of course was always as plus no matter what your outlook on life was.

Unfortunately for Francis, he caught a glimpse of flashing gold near the feet of the two loud, obnoxious twins. He thought about just letting the snitch zoom off somewhere else, but his natural seeker instincts said that would be stupid. Besides, he figured that he could, perhaps, show off himself a bit and get the two men to quiet down about themselves. As fast as he could, he shot forward, keeping his eyes set on the snitch he saw floating around the pair. Francis zipped by them, catching the snitch on the bare tips of his fingers, hardly managing to keep hold on it, but still catching it all the same. It wasn't flashy like the things they were doing, but it showed his skill, pure and simple.

Peter had noticed the golden snitch, it was a glint in the corner of his eye, but he was no Seeker his brother was and so he tapped Patrick on the shoulder to point over to the snitch, before it was suddenly grabbed up. Well that was certainly random and unexpected. Peter slowed his broom down, and cleared his throat. "Could you keep your snitch away from us? Not particularly interested in having to be knocked down, I've have more than enough of that.." He nudged Pat with a grin, "Ain't that right Pat?" Their sister Gladys had a bit of a vendetta against them so when the chance was ripe she would always send the bludgers in their direction to entertain herself.

Patrick had noticed the Snitch a few seconds before Peter had, but he had not viewed it as important as it wasn't his to seek after, and so he had paid it no mind. When another player nearly barreled into them to get it however, Pat looked at him oddly and said "Oi, it's only practice tryhard." mocking the preposterous amount of effort that the man had just put into a meaningless practice. when Peter commented on how they'd already nearly been killed that day, Patrick nodded in agreement and said "Yah, seriously."

Re: Never Underestimate the Quiet Ones

Francis resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He didn't think of the two men as the brightest of players. He wanted to scoff at what the first one had said; he couldn't keep his snitch away from them, it went where it wanted to, and it just so happened to choose there. The other bothered him as well. Francis was trying very hard in this practice, and he thought it was justified with the draft being so close. It didn't seem to him like the man commenting on his effort was all too concerned with practicing. The American boy would have pointed all this out, but he was aware that it would only come out as a jumbled mess, thanks to his stutter, so he merely stared evenly at the pair, and let his snitch go free once more. He wasn't even going to bother apologizing, for that too would come out incoherently. Francis merely flew off, searching for the snitch once more.

Peter looked at the kid who just kind of kept silent and even rolled his eyes at them. How rude. Peter stuck his tongue out at him, and then grabbed the Quaffle from Patrick. "I kind of want to throw this at him.. Think I'd get disqualified?" He asked, he figured he would so as he thought about it more the urge to hit the silent rude kid decreased, but he still was quite annoyed with him. "What a rude arse..." Pete huffed, tossing the Quaffle back to Patrick.

The other Seeker immediately flew off, and Patrick shook his head and returned his attention to Peter as he caught the Quaffle. "You know, I'm just a Seeker. I'm not used to handling the Quaffle - it could totally just slip out of my hand!" he said with a grin, faking a throw towards the departed player before throwing it back to Peter.

Francis could still hear them as he flew off, somehow. He figured their voices were just that loud. It made him shake his head, his own annoyance growing. He hated the idea that he had to share a pitch with the two while he was practicing, but he wasn't about to leave any time soon, because he was certainly dead set on perfecting a few moves and techniques while he had the chance. Scanning the pitch with wide, dark eyes, Francis tried his hardest to just block the pair out and focus on what he needed to do. Perhaps they would just leave him alone that way.

Peter grinned and nudged his brother as the lame kid flew away and stopped to scan the field. "Thick head is probably too blind to see the Snitch, eh Pat?" Pete smirked to his brother and looked over to him. "I bet you could beat him at his own little game. This Draft isn't for any newbies and sissies about and I would say he's about both, what do you think?" Peter was at this point whispering just loud enough for Patrick to hear, grinning quite widely still, or smirking. They would change back and forth.

"Hey come now Pete." Patrick said when his brother called the other player a sissy and a newb. "That there is an insult to sissies and newbs everywhere!" Patrick laughed, finding it quite amusing that he and Peter were having a secret conversation like this, despite the fact that it was a daily occurrence with the two of them.

Francis continued to fly around the pitch at a fairly decent speed, his eyes searching everywhere for the snitch. Usually, he wouldn't have so much trouble with it. For some reason, he was finding it a lot more difficult to block things out, that some reason most likely being the two men that he had accidentally ran into who only had rude things to say. He really had meant to apologize, but with the way they were acting, he figured it wouldn't be worth wasting his breath on. Francis furrowed his brows, squinting from the bright sunlight, looking for any hint of gold amongst the pitch.

Peter only laughed at his brother saying that it was an insult to all sissy newbs and nodded. "I think you're right! How bad can one get?" Peter snickered and shook his head, they were awful boys, always up on the high horse and ready to make fun of others. Though they had very little reason not to do so, as they very rarely paid for any of the "consequence."

Patrick laughed and asked "I know right? What a weenie!" Admittedly Patrick and Peter probably should have just let things slide by and moved on, but of course that was not the way that the Rumbleroar twins operated. "Seriously, between this guy and the morons at the mess hall I seriously don't know what's wrong with people.

For some reason, the young man couldn't let the incident go. Usually, he would have let something like that slide, and just get past it, but Francis couldn't this particular time. There was something about the twins that irked and bothered him to no end. It could have been their arrogant demeanor, or their rudeness, or any number of things; Francis didn't know the cause, but the effect was obvious. As he continued hunting for the snitch, he kept an eye on the two in his peripherals, thinking of why they bothered him so much, and how he might get them back.

"I just don't think they can quite fit into this whole entire Quidditch-CREW! It's full of rough and tough guys! Not some wimpy arse girly players, what kind of Seeker is wimpy anyway? Seeker's have go to be tough, kill them all dead! Ain't that right Patrick?" His words made absolutely no connection, but to Peter it made absolutely perfect sense.

Patrick shrugged and replied "Well, I guess they'll be in for a rude awakening when no one drafts them and they just get sent home packing." Of course Patrick thought that his brother's words made perfect sense, something that would not surprise anyone who knew the twins.

They were whistled out of the air a moment later, and Patrick turned to his brother and said with a grin "Come on Pete, time for food!"
