Setting everything up, he made the tea according to his knowledge. He didn’t even bother to stop what he was doing once Mina joined him. Giving a nod, he let her leave as he finished what he was doing. Was he being rude? He didn’t think so but honestly who went around their house like that? It was like they knew each other that well anyway. Ouch. Even Tetsuya flinched at those harsh thoughts. It wasn’t his fault he was so awkward with her still. They just never had time to talk about things enough to break that ice to become friendly. Or maybe he was too polite? Thinking that over, he shook his head. No, it was the breaking the ice theory for sure.
Opening the fridge, Tetsuya was going to snoop for a snack but what his eyes laid on made him stop mid-reach. While Soju was nice, Tetsuya liked his saki far better. Maybe it was because of how much he secretly missed Japan? Being old enough to have it didn’t make him reaching for the bottle and holding it up to his eye level feel any better. His nerves felt too on edge. Like there was a potion explosion and the clinic was filled with patients. Sighing, he knew better than to do this but figured it was the quickest way to calm him down and who knows? Maybe it would help him go to sleep faster after eating?
Though, since he was left alone, there was a good amount of time spent just staring at the bottle before Tetsuya actually opened it. Once he did, he poured himself a small shot into the porcelain white shot glass. Taking it down before he could give himself second thoughts, he made a face as he felt it rush down and disappear. Standing there, he looked at it curiously before remembering that it took movement to feel the effects for him. It sounded odd but that was how saki worked. It wasn’t until you thought you were done with the drink when it would come back and hit you the hardest. Even if it was just one shot, it has been a while since Tetsuya went out for this kind of drink so his tolerance was lowered. Was this a bad idea after all?
Jumping as he heard a knock at the door, he quickly put the shot glass down and went to answer it. One his way, he bumped into the counter as his vision whirled. Yes, one shot was more than enough with saki. Righting himself, everything went back to normal and he grabbed his wallet on his way to the door. He took the food gratefully as the smell of the noodles hit him. Paying for it all, he closed the door with a happy face. “Mina! Your food is here. Come eat with me!” Hm, maybe he should turn down the chipper-ness? But he was happy about his food. What person didn’t like to eat? Surely some insane one and Tetsuya was far from insane. Bringing it to the table, he unpacked everything and set it up for them.
Being impatience due to his stomach growls, he opened his his noodle package and picked some out with his fingers. Mm… they were so good. Stuffing in a few more, he remembered the tea and quickly went back to finishing it off so they would have something to drink with their meal. Suddenly, Tetsuya was very glad he remembered their tea. It would have been a shame not to have it. Smiling to himself, he never noticed just how much he was doing that or the slightly faint pink brushing his cheek bones. By glancing, it would have looked natural but on closer inspection, it was quite obvious how out of place it was on the even skin toned man. Finally finishing up their tea, he brought it over to the table and picked up the throw away chopsticks as he began to stuff his face in true Tetsuya fashion. He could be such a pig but he loved his food too much to care sometimes.
