We Say Goodbye [June 2023]

[Cillian Knight]

"You totally just made that up!" Cillian countered, crossing his arms and looking at James with mild reproach. He was rather annoyed with the fact that James thought he could just make up whatever 'rule' he wanted and expect Cillian to follow it - and he was glad he wouldn't have to put up with it any longer.

[James Potter II]

"Did not!" James replied, failing quite miserably at any attempts to sound convincing. "It's totally a real rule - ask anyone!" Of course, Cillian did not know anyone who would count as a 'reliable source' in James' eye - which was exactly the point, he had no way to contradict what James was saying.

[Cillian Knight]

"So I could ask Rafe then?" Cillian asked, knowing exactly why James had said what he did, and knowing equally well that using Raffinoldus Rath - James' best friend - would make quick work of this 'plan' of his.

[James Potter II]

"Touche boy, touche." James replied, feeling somewhat slighted by the fact that Cillian had been able to outwit him so quickly - it had hardly been a very fair fight, and James was starting to wish that he had put a bit more thought into his excuses. "You still have to come up with the plan though." he added sharply.

[Cillian Knight]

Cillian's victory was short-lived indeed, as he was immediately forced to backtrack long enough to protest James' insistence that the prank was still on him. "Can't you help just a little bit?" he pleaded quietly.

[James Potter II]

Committed as ever to his laziness, James shook his head and replied with a grin at his own cleverness "Nope, how would you learn if I always held your hand every step of the way?" he asked, feeling quite proud of himself for thinking of this excuse.

[Cillian Knight]

"That's bull!" Cillian shouted almost immediately, "I've thought of so many of our pranks and you know it!" Cillian was not going to put up with James forcing this one on him - not now! It was a matter of principle!

[James Potter II]

"Well...you still have to do this one!" James replied, tired of having to think of new reasons to feed Cillian and just wanting the kid to get this over with already. Even if he didn't have the mandate with which to do it, hopefully the First Year would just agree for the sake of moving along with things.

[Cillian Knight]

Cillian frowned and looked at James as he said "You do realize how much of a whiny prat you are, right?" which of course the both of them knew to mean that Cillian was just going to do it for the sake of making James shut up - at this point it was easier to cave than to argue.

[James Potter II]

James laughed when Cillian finally agreed to just do the work for him on this one, though he had not quite said as much just yet, and patted the First Year on the back before saying "You're a lifesaver Cillian, shall we head back up to the Common Room then?"

[Cillian Knight]

Cillian scowled and replied "Yeah sure whatever, may as well be comfortable while I sort all of this out." he had resigned himself to it by now, and the only thing that was left at this point was to work out how he was going to come up with a suitable prank with no help and so little time.

[James Potter II]

"Great, maybe I can catch a nap while you work." James said with a smile, looking at Cillian with an expression that plainly said that he knew all too well how infuriating his words were to the First Year. That was the point right now, he wanted to infuriate him.

[Cillian Knight]

Cillian shot James a dark look and said "Word of advice James, I wouldn't be sleeping around me while I'm in a bad mood, and already working on devious pranking ideas."

[James Potter II]

James smirked and replied "You know after all of these months I'd have thought that we could have eventually became friends." It seemed that this was never going to happen - not that James minded all that much, Cillian was a bit of a prat to be perfectly honest.

[Cillian Knight]

"Not bloody likely." Cillian replied bitterly, shoving past James and sitting down to begin getting to work. The more James brought this up the less he liked the older boy. He enjoyed working with James - but he did not like the boy as a person very much.

[James Potter II]

"Well, call me when you're done I suppose." James replied quietly, not sure what to make of this - though also not entirely sure whether he even cared all that much.

[Cillian Knight]

"Yeah, whatever." Cillian replied as he closed his eyes and started about planning a prank of sufficient quality.
