Keeping from bouncing on the balls of her feet was rather difficult for Iselda to do. Arne had completely made her day by agreeing to her suggestion which she hadn't thought he was going to do. He was more than shy when it came to Odin even if the other wouldn't admit it. Anyone could see it which was something she would keep to herself. Managing to keep her smile on the small side rather than the large was easier to accomplish and she did. "Good." She said without concealing her excitement. There were definitely some things she could work on in ways of concealment.

Waiting patiently for Arne, or as patiently as she could which meant Iselda was fidgeting here and there. He really was the one that needed to lead the way though Iselda was more than capable of leading them out of the cellar but this was Arne's show now. She wasn't about to reign on his parade. Looping her arm through his she bumped her shoulder with his. "Do lead the way, I'm at your disposal now." Okay now Iselda was being just silly, but Arne had made her giddy and she felt that that was more than acceptable way to behave for now. Humming to herself, it was a tune of 'I'm going to prove you wrong.' in a rather bratty tone but since it was being hummed Arne couldn't know that at all.

Arne was already starting to regret agreeing to this entire thing. What if he was wrong? What if they did run into him and then he was forced to actually ask Odin? He was almost tempted to just back out of it. Play sick or bail out because he had to meet another friend? Oh! Maybe he could tell her that he just remembered he had plans with Odin and she'd let him go. No. Actually she'd probably ask to tag along or something just so she could be sure.

He glanced over at her when she looped her arm with his before letting out a quiet sigh. "Fine," he mumbled sounding a bit like a little kid who wasn't getting his way. He lead the way out of the cellars and back into the school. Since this only lasted to the dorm to get her the notes he figured there was nothing to worry about. After all Odin wouldn't be close to the dorms right now. He'd be out hanging with one of his friends or something. Or at least that's what Arne was hoping for.

What was up with Howlers anyway? Who needed them. Certainly not him. But, to please his aunt and uncle, he had enlisted Andrei's help to help tutor him in herbology (the class in which he was failing the hardest). But he managed to locate all of his books and was going to head off to the library. It wasn't his best idea, really. He hated the library and always felt a headache coming on by being surrounding by so many books. How Arne could do it, hang out in the library all the time, was beyond him.

But his eyes lit up as he wandered away from the dorms. "Iselda Ionescu and Arne Valquist. Up to no good, I hope." He joked around as he halted before them. He almost wished he could just hide his books before they caught on that he was actually going to be doing work. He wasn't dorky or anything, he was no over achiever, but he also wasn't a complete failure either. He was somewhere in-between, which left him struggling most of the time to not flunk the hard classes.

Humming a little bit longer, Iselda started to walk with Arne as soon as she had gotten the proper go ahead. If Arne would have let her she'd have them skipping down the halls right about now with him in tow. Sadly that was not the case. Though it was probably better that way because if they were skipping then they'd be going faster and then they could possibly miss Odin by a few mere seconds and Iselda certainly didn't want that.

Getting back into the castle and its comfortable familiar surroundings, it really did feel like home after all of these. Sometimes it felt more like home than her actual home with her parents. Grinning from ear to ear, she walked along with Arne, a little too excited to really talk about anything important. It was either keep quiet because her mind was buzzing or speak about anything and everything nonstop. She chose not to annoy Arne and kept quiet.

That was until she heard a very familiar and most attractive smooth voice calling her name. She whipped both Arne and her around dead on the spot and her eyes met with the ones she probably gazed at a little too much but without his notice. Odin Vasara was standing right in front of them a little ways away. How perfect was this. "Odin Vasara." Iselda smiled at him almost demurely but the gleam in her eyes certainly showed otherwise. "That depends on your definition of no good. I personally think it's very very good but others..not so much." Oh how very delighted she was to see Odin had found them instead of the other way around. This was just wonderful and if it wasn't for Odin standing just across from them she would be bouncing on the balls of her feet.

The blonde froze when he heard a familiar voice call his name. If Iselda hadn't whipped them around to face the owner of the voice Arne probably would have been a bit slower to actually turn and face him. He had thought that the other was supposed to be somewhere else. Anywhere else! He really didn't care where he was so long as he wasn't here! It was why he was so quick to agree to Iselda's whole idea. Because he wouldn't have run the risk of running into the other male! What in the world had brought him here?! He was quick to decide that the world hated him. It was the only explanation as to why Odin would show up now. When they were so close to their destination and the end of this whole deal thing between them.

"Odin," he muttered. Any other time he would have been happy to see Odin, but right now he wasn't very happy because it meant he have to prove either himself or Iselda wrong and he was hoping it was going to be the female of the trio. Oh! Or maybe he could get the other two distracted by something else and then Iselda would forget and they could go on with life. Yes. That seemed like a good idea. Quickly his eyes looked around for something to use as a distraction before landing on the books Odin was holding. "Why are you carrying books around?" he asked.

Odin often loved the way Iselda thought. Maybe that was why he found himself interested in her. "Oh, that's the perfect type of mischief." He smiled innocently. He liked that type of mischief anyway. It was usually the 'good fun' type of things. And that was what he loved most.

His smile turned into frown when Arne asked him about the books. "I'm flunking herbology so I thought I'd go find Andris or Ted and sucker them into helping me get an A in this class." They didn't need to know about the Howler. It was already bad enough that the Howler had decided to singe some of his hair in the process of exploding. He was pretty much sure he was missing part of his right eyebrow.

Iselda nodded her head twice slowly, thinking of how much fun it might be to do that type of mischief with Odin even though the one she was speaking of actually included him. This time it was better that he didn't know. If he did then things couldn't go according to plan. So far things were going really well and it made her really excited. Iselda bounced on the balls of her feet slightly but frowned when she heard Arne speaking. Was he stalling?

That of course was unacceptable. Although, Odin did distract her with his talk of flunking Herbology something she happened to be passing easily. She was really tempted and almost opened her mouth to offer how own services when she remembered they were here for other reasons. She discreetly elbowed Arne in the side, knowing he would know that she was telling him to get to the point. And then an idea hit her, looking at Odin she said, "Well, I happen to be rather good in Herbology, if you like I'll have some time say after dinner to help you with it if you like?" Initially she had really wanted to do this because it meant more time with Odin but this was also a way for Arne to get to the point. "In the meantime though..." Iselda looked glanced over at Arne giving him an expression that this was his chance to get to it.

Arne was almost tempted to ask Odin how he could have let his grades in Herbology drop so much. After all hadn't the other boy mentioned that he had Ted and Andris to keep him from flunking out? And here he was having to go search those two down to get them to help him bring up an already failing grade. He shot a small glare at Iselda when she elbowed him in the side. He knew what she was trying to do and he really didn't want to do it. Then she turned around and took the only reasonable thing that he could have suggested.

"In the meantime you can still go hunt down Andris or Ted to help you study more," he chipped in. He was going to stall as long as he possibly could on this because now he wasn't so sure that he would win this little thing they had going on.

Odin was curious as to what the two of them were up to. It was actually quite interesting. At least more interesting than trying to figure out his homework or find Ted or Andrei. It would probably be best, but this was Arne and Iselda. They were just as cool as the other two sixth years that tended to act as tutors. These two were friends and really cool ones.

"That'd be awesome." He actually smiled at the offer. However, he couldn't help but glance between Arne and Iselda. "Am I missing something?" He looked between the two, getting an odd feeling of being left out of something. Was there bad news to be sad to him or something? He didn't like feeling so awkward. It was just a little too unsettling for his liking.

Iselda could wring Arne's neck for what he had finished her sentence with. Andrei and Ted? Really, he would have to mention those two. Personally, right now she'd like to give Arne a good swift kick in the behind but instead she just smiled and nudged his shoulder with her own. It was her own type of warning without giving in to the urges she was having. It seemed like Odin was catching on though. Well, that actually opened up a beautiful opportunity. Maybe she wouldn't give Arne a swift kick but just a kick instead? Hmm..yes that sounded reasonable.

With her eyes trained on Odin's, which she couldn't deny that those eyes were quite captivating. If it wasn't for their bet Iselda might just have a good time staring into them and then probably making herself look like some bumbling fool. Guess, it was a good thing the bet was in place. "You're right. Arne, here, has a been wanting to ask you something but for some reason he thinks you'd be much to busy for him." Iselda clasped her hands behind her back and rocked gently from her heels to the balls of her feet and back again. "I told him that wouldn't be the case since you like him.." Iselda couldn't resist turning to the blonde haired boy next to her and pinching his cheek real quick. "As if anyone wouldn't." She said in a softer voice but still audible for the two boys to hear. "You have some time right, Odin?" So, maybe she went a little overboard. She had really wanted Arne to get to the asking himself without any prompting but it didn't seem as if that was going to be the case today. Really, that boy was much too shy at times.

He knew that he was annoying Iselda by continuing to stall, but he couldn't help it. He really didn't want to ask and be turned down, which is what he was sure would happen. Alright so he wasn't as sure now as he had been, but still the idea of being turned down was there and he didn't want to risk it. When the girl nudged his shoulder Arne felt that he did a good job at ignoring the warning that was hidden in it. Then of course his nice stalling was ruined when Odin caught onto something going on. The blonde boy didn't get the chance to deny there being anything since Iselda spoke up a bit quicker than him.

He shot a glare over to the female when she told Odin what was going on or at least hinted at it or whatever. He slapped at the hand that pinched his cheek and rubbed the area even though it didn't hurt. He didn't like people doing that. "I thought I was supposed to ask him," he mumbled as he looked between his two friends. It wasn't that he really cared one way or another because obviously Odin had a lot of plans today. Plans that involved getting his grades up and not wasting time hanging out with some boring blonde doing something boring.

Odin blinked when Iselda told him that he was right in the fact that something was up. He glanced from Iselda to Arne, as if waiting for him to speak. However, it was Izzy who began to speak again. He listened quietly, wanting to hear everything that had to be said before he spoke up. But he knew that he wasn't busy and would much rather put off doing his work than doing it. So he wondered what a big deal it was whether he was busy or not. He would pretty much drop everything to help hang out or help his friends. "Of course I have free time," he responded without a second thought.

Odin glanced from Iselda to Arne and smiled. "What's the plan? Need help with something?"

Iselda was simply beaming in triumph when Odin said that he had free time. In fact she was really tempted to do a little dance because of how happy she was. She loved being right, but then again who didn't? Even more so though, Iselda wanted to show Arne that if he just spoke up more, he'd prove himself wrong. Maybe then he'd stop deluding himself to the silliest of thoughts. Arne's words made her frown for half a second though. She had said almost everything that he was supposed to ask but not the whole question.

"You can still ask. I didn't mention what you wanted." She had leaned closer to Arne and said that for only him to hear. Then she looked up at Odin, all smiles, that certainly wouldn't be leaving her face for awhile. "Well, I think my work here is done." She nudged Arne once and said, "Don't forget what you owe me." Then she waved to Odin and then skipped off to her dorms. Yes, skipped. Iselda was much too happy to merely walk to her destination.

Arne fidgeted when Odin responded that he had free time. What was he supposed to say now? He didn't have anything planned. He had been expecting the other to turn his request down because of homework or something. And hadn't he been planning on making some distraction to take Iselda's attention off of this whole deal? Where had that plan gotten off to? He could have come up with a distraction and been the one skipping off leaving his two friends to hang out or whatever, but no he'd allowed Iselda to get her voice into the whole mess.

He glared after the girl as she left and continued to glare for a couple of seconds after she'd disappeared from sight before finally turning his attention back to Odin. "I...uh...well you see," he paused for a moment to gather his thoughts before trying again, "okay so...Iselda and I were just talking and she made this comment about things and then I made a comment and then she made a comment and then I made a comment about you being busy with more important things than hanging out with me and then she made a comment and I made a comment and then she pulled out this...bet...deal...thing. She didn't think you would turn down hanging out with me and I thought you would have more important things to do."

The blonde paused in his ramblings for a moment and cleared his throat before chuckling a little in embarrassment. "Sorry...the point was that we made a bet to see which of us was right so there's not really...anything I need help with or anything. I'll just...uhm...go and let you get back to hunting down someone to help you with your lessons so you can get your grades up." He finally completely stopped talking a shot the other a grin before starting to slowly inch away, expecting Odin to go hunt down Andrei or Ted to help him with his Herbology.

Re: An Unwanted Offer Accepted

Postby Odin Vasara » Tue Feb 12, 2013 1:01 am

Odin didn't really know what to do when Iselda skipped away. Literally, skipped. He just stared for a minute, trying to figure out if he just saw right. He honestly thought he was imagining things. He was about to question Arne if the older boy had seen the same thing, but he began to speak.

Odin was quiet while he listened to Arne speak, wanting to laugh at how nervous Arne had become. He didn't really get why he was nervous and rambling and made little sense. But at least Odin got the gist of what was going on. Him and Iselda made a bet about whether or not he would hang out with Arne. It actually hurt him a little to think someone he called a friend would think he wouldn't drop everything he was doing to hang out with them.

"Who says I need to hunt them down? I can study later, Arne. You know Iselda is right. I'd much rather hand out with you than study." He abhorred studying. He often acted like a drama queen, stating that the school work would be the end of him. But he knew he would get the work done sooner or later and all would be well. "What do you have in mind? We could go to the pitch? I'm not much at Quidditch, but I know you like it out there." He had seen Arne go out there quite a bit over the years. Enough to know Arne liked to play Seeker.

Odin's words about studying later made Arne frown. The scholar in him not liking that the other had told him and Iselda that he was failing a class and then seeming fine to just wait to study later. "Studying is important," he told the other, "and you were just on your way to hunt them down to study. Which is much more important than hanging out with me." The younger teen shouldn't be surprised to hear Arne's words. The blonde took studying a bit too seriously at times and was always trying to get others to focus more on their schoolwork.

The mention of going to the pitch had Arne stopping from what could have possibly been some kind of weirdo rant about studying and how important it was. He got a thoughtful look on his face almost like he was about to agree before shaking his head. "You need to study," he repeated as if by repeating that he wouldn't want to go out to the pitch.

Odin watched Arne for a minute, studied him. "Fine. Study is important, I get it." He shifted his books and grabbed Arne's hand. "Let's go, Arne. You want to hang out. You're smart. I dub you my new tutor. Afterwards, we can do something fun." Because studying was not fun in the least. Odin decided to tug Arne off to the library so they had a nice place to do some work. Because everyone went to the library to study, right? So that's where he guessed they would go, too.

Arne blinked as he was dragged off towards the library and dubbed the other's tutor. He hadn't expected that. Not that he was going to complain about it. It was something they could do and hang out while they did. It was something he was useful for. He chuckled as the other declared they would study and then do something fun. "Fair enough," he agreed as they made their way to the library to study.
