Beauxbaxtons ages?

On a Harry Potter wiki site, I found this:

In film version of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Gabrielle, at 8 years-old, is already attending Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.

Does that mean that the students start their when they are eight, the film adaption was different than the book or that Gabrielle was there because Fleur was? I could have sworn Gabrielle was in her first year in GoF but please correct me if I'm wrong...

Hey, Elflin. This is Ever, on one of my side accounts.

Instead of following the movie adaptions, we at Vault 713 prefer to follow the original adaptions of the series, and by that I would mean the book; in which case, the most accurate information would majorly come from sites like The Harry Potter Lexicon and Harry Potter Wiki. However, there's nothing particularly specific stated about their schooling years beyond that instead of taking their major exams (EG: OWLs) after 5 years of study as in Hogwarts, they sit for their exams after 6 years of study.

So in this case, it would be presumed that Gabrielle was only at Beauxbatons because Fleur was. However, specific details on this question, namely years and age ranges at Beauxbatons, I will have to get back to you again, or another Vaultkeeper would. So hold on tight for the time being!
